Gamma Squadron Report

Weekly Report #14 – Submission date: December 4th 2011

Introduction

Welcome to another Gama report,

November has ended, but only now we’ve seen results from October’s MSE. Yours truly has been awarded with a Palpatine Crescent once more, and LC Mark Schueler has been awarded the Imperial Security Medal for that month’s activities. Congratulations to us!

It’s not all good news. With the approval of the SOO, I’ve decided to move CPT Viper to a Flight Member position, until the time comes that he is once again able to perform as this position requires. I’d like to thank CPT Viper for trying. We all know that even that can be hard enough.

Applications for Flight 2 Leader are being accepted as of now. Requirements for the position are to be active in all competitions this squadron takes part. I don’t require Flight reports, but you’re free to do it if you want to.

Today is the final day of the third week of the TC Flying Comp, and, once again, our participation is lacking. Hopefully more of you can submit your files before the deadline. If you go fly now, you’ll still have plenty of time to complete all 3 missions. Zosite, Crsepe, Dante and CPT Viper, it would be really nice to see a bit of participation coming from you. All others have participated in one round or another.

Once again, we’re not looking for high scores here, although if you think you can get them, go for it! But it’s really important to fly the missions, even if you do it on easy, etc. That will grant valuable points for YOUR squadron.

Current standings put Delta on top, with us in second, but with Epsilon right on our tail. Yes, we’re in danger of even losing the second place, and that sucks.

As November has ended, so did another round of Master’s Mission of the Week – Redux. Once again, there were no submissions throughout the month, and thus no one is eligible to win any medals. Since this competition has failed to attract any activity in the last couple of months, I’ve decided that it won’t be renewed for next year. Since it’s scheduled to end at the end of 2011, We have a month to go. I’ve decided that the assignment for the whole month will be a TIE Battle, for which TIE-TC 240: Survival has been chosen. You have until new years eve to fly it.

Competition Center

* TC Flight Comp
From the SOO: With a duration of 4 weeks I will post an XvT/XWA/TIE Free mission to complete within 7 days at the beginning of every week, with points awarded for participation, and bonuses for high scores and squad participation.  The rules have already been looked at by CMDRs and a few minor changes have been made to bring you this shiny new polished version...

Pilot file submitted = 2 Points per pilot
Submitting Files for all 3 Platforms (per week) = 3 Point (Bonus)
Highest Score for Platform (peer week) = 3 Points (XWA/XvT/TIE) (Bonus)
50% Squad Participation (per week) = 2 Points (Bonus)
100% Squad Participation (per week) = 4 Points (Bonus)

Weekly Award: - IS-GW for Highest Score per Platform
Final Award:      - IS-PW for Pilot scoring 2 or more Weekly Top Scores
                           - IS-GR for every participating member of winning squadron
                           - IS-SR for every participating member of runner-up squadron

Winning squadron will be awarded the honorific of "TCCOMs Own" to be held until next competition.
Winning CMDR will be awarded the honorific of "Wing Commander" (not the position, but as a "Senior CMDR" title)
Not the most complicated comp idea in the world, but I hope we will see some activity generated.

Submissions of pilot files will as usual be to CMDRs, with CMDRs sending me their personal files.  I will update a scores table on this e-mail group and the MB every week, and announce the next weeks missions the same way.

Assignments:
TIE-Free 251

Quotes of the Week

1 – LC Mickk Emrys: “I don’t have any problems at all..... but then I am lucky enough to have a copy of TIE ’95 :)”

LC Tempest: “I have a copy of it, too, but how is that lucky? :P”

I could even tell what the answer was before he said it :P

Dark Lord of the Week

The highly prestigious title of Dark Lord of the Week is only given to the person who has most advanced the success of the Squadron, amused the CMDR, or slipped me the most $5 notes in a brown paper bag. This week's winner is:

Mark Schueler, for being the only one of my pilots who was awarded a medal for October

Ewok of the Week

Yub Yub!

Every story has a hero, every journey has a first step, every Fleet has a pilot who's about as much use as an ashtray on a speeder bike. This weeks's Prize Ewok is none other than:

CPT Viper, for wasting a good opportunity...
