Weekly Report #11 – Submission date: November 15th 2011

Introduction

Greetings,

As you can see, I’m back from my leave, so on with the news!

The SOO has announced the new TC Flying competition, which has already started yesterday. We need everyone to take part on this, as participation grants us points. The assignments for the first week are: TIE-Free 265, XvT-Free 91 and XWA-Free 105. Fly at least one of the designated missions until November 20th, 2359Z. Fly them all if you’re able to, the more, the better! Get to your fighters, and let’s show them what Gamma is about!

Most of the squadron has reported in this week. Thank you for that. Next step: fly for the TC competition!!

The Fiction competition ended, and I know at least my own submission was sent. We now expect results to be released by the TCCOM!

The award for The Black of Black – October – is being discussed with the brass, and will be processed as soon as possible. Apologies for the delay on this one.

From the SOO: With a duration of 4 weeks I will post an XvT/XWA/TIE Free mission to complete within 7 days at the beginning of every week, with points awarded for participation, and bonuses for high scores and squad participation.  The rules have already been looked at by CMDRs and a few minor changes have been made to bring you this shiny new polished version...

Pilot file submitted = 2 Points per pilot
Submitting Files for all 3 Platforms (per week) = 3 Point (Bonus)
Highest Score for Platform (peer week) = 3 Points (XWA/XvT/TIE) (Bonus)
50% Squad Participation (per week) = 2 Points (Bonus)
100% Squad Participation (per week) = 4 Points (Bonus)

Weekly Award: - IS-GW for Highest Score per Platform
Final Award:      - IS-PW for Pilot scoring 2 or more Weekly Top Scores
                           - IS-GR for every participating member of winning squadron
                           - IS-SR for every participating member of runner-up squadron

Winning squadron will be awarded the honorific of "TCCOMs Own" to be held until next competition.
Winning CMDR will be awarded the honorific of "Wing Commander" (not the position, but as a "Senior CMDR" title)
Not the most complicated comp idea in the world, but I hope we will see some activity generated.

Submissions of pilot files will as usual be to CMDRs, with CMDRs sending me their personal files.  I will update a scores table on this e-mail group and the MB every week, and announce the next weeks missions the same way.

Description: In the spirit of today as Halloween, Samhain, All Hallows Eve etc, I would like to first say Happy Halloween! Tonight I would like to kick off a simple fiction competition to get us back into gear. The topic: A TIE Corps Ghost Story! Yes, I would like to take on a ghost story with yourself as the main character! Light or dark, happy or tragic, I would love to see the creative powers of our group at work! Submissions can be denied if they are not of sufficient length / quality. I don’t want to see “The captain said ‘Boo!”, give me a story, a few paragraphs or more, preferably more than a page. If there are more than Four (4) submissions, all participants below 3rd place will get an Iron Star-Bronze Ribbon! Submissions should be sent to me at jedieclipse@gmail.com with the subject “Haunted TIE Corps”.

Participants: So we must begin our long journey... Towards the lands of Awesomeo... Towards greatness....
Awards: Highest scorer after 4 rounds will win a IS-BW Any pilot who scores higher than me after 4 rounds will also receive a IS-BW. Medals only available to pilots within Gamma Squadron. Any entries from other pilots are welcome.
Description: In an effort to promote good missions, lots of medals and good old competitive spirit each week I’m going to nominate a free/battle/map. After four weeks (end of each month) the scores will be totaled. Highest scorer will win a medal as well as any pilot who beats my own score.
