TCCOM REPORT #1

REPORTING OFFICER: Fleet Admiral Plif, TIE Corps Commander
DATE SUBMITTED: 420 Blaze It

NEWS

Definitely the single busiest week I've had in a while, which is probably not surprising since it was my first as the TIE Corps Commander. Thanks for hanging in there while I'm figuring things out.

The outgoing TCCOM, Fleet Admiral Pete Mitchell, was promoted to High Admiral and held that rank for a day before being transferred to Kappa Squadron. He decided to return to the last line rank he held before becoming an admiral so that he can have the experience of earning all the ranks, so we'll be watching MAJ Pete Mitchell's career with great interest.

The Commodore of the Warrior, Vice Admiral Hav Antiel, was promoted to Admiral and held that rank for a few days before transferring to a new assignment that I'll talk about next. AD Antiel was also awarded the Grand Order of the Emperor for his service as WarCOM and Sin Squadron CMDR before that.

With the continuing influx of new and returning pilots, I decided that it was time to open two new squadrons. COL Doyon of Alpha Squadron and AD Hav Antiel the WarCOM (now COL Hav Antiel) were appointed as the CMDRs of Beta Squadron and Rho Squadron respectively.

Beta Squadron was offered the opportunity to choose new fighters (only up to the ones shown in XWA) and a squadron objective. They're now flying TIE Defenders in a Space Supremacy role, which is completely new and defined as 'To achieve complete space/air control over a region/planet, effectively denying any capacity from the adversary to interfere in said region or planet. Achieving space or air supremacy, or at least superiority, makes it easier for other squadrons to successfully achieve their mission(s).'

Rho Squadron was also offered the opportunity to choose new fighters and a squadron objective. In a break from the norm of shielded superfighters, Rho is flying a full set of TIE Interceptors in a Strike role.

Sin Squadron was the first to complete 10 tasks in Squadron (Re)Mobilization and earned the right to change their objective and fighters (including any EH-created craft). They created a new fighter, the TIE Sinister, and created a new objective as well. Their new role, Deep Space Depredation, is defined as 'To execute strategic attacks on objectives behind the front lines. Once targets are destroyed, the squadron may either return or attack targets of opportunity. Depending on the targets, these operations can have both psychological and physical effects on the enemy's war effort.'

This past weekend, the TIE Corps held its first multiplayer event in a while. The TC PvP Shootout was put together by COL Horus Blackheart and there were a number of XWA and XvT matches flown. Additional thanks to AD Miles Prower for helping run the event and VA John T. Clark for writing it up as an official combat event.

I'm still in the process of selecting a new SOO, but I should be able to wrap that up this week. After that, we'll need a WarCOM and whatever other position(s) end up open after naming the SOO.

To add another way to recognize the Flagship of the TIE Corps, the TCCOM and SOO are now assigned to the flagship and will display the ship's name in their ID lines. It's a small change, but it's a daily way to show our regard for the efforts of the winners of the yearly Raise the Flag competition.

I decided to make competition updates for TCiB, Squadron (Re)Mobilization, and Everyone's a Critic their own emails like the Trivia Grand Tour already is, so they won't appear in the TCCOM Reports but I think they'll be more visible as a result.
