Squadron News & Commentary

Since my last update we have seen an increase in flying from some of the group which is great to see. Look forward to seeing updated results in the next SOO report and where we need to focus for Squadron Mobilization. I also participated in my first MP flying event on April 18th and really enjoyed it. We had a number of people able to join and it would be good to see those grow and become a regularly scheduled event. In terms of our artistic challenge I submitted my own example but unless I have an issue with email I have received no entries....please reach out if you submitted something.

On another note we lost LT McCrea to the reserves. We also have a couple of shy pilots from an activity standpoint I’ll try to get in contact with this week.

Competitions

Here are the following competitions that Theta is participating in, whether squadron-only or part of the whole TIE Corps. As always I encourage you to visit the Competition Center (https://tc.emperorshammer.org/competitions.php?id=current ) to brush up on what’s going on in the TC as a whole. Keep an eye out for the Command Staff’s reports as they contain important information and competitions.

Theta Artistic Shop - https://tc.emperorshammer.org/competitions.php?id=3107 This will end every Sunday night. This Squadron competition involves each pilot emailing the Squadron Commander a picture of an -non-Star Wars or Sci-fi related- object. For example an appliance, piece of furniture, piece office supply, or whatever you can come up with. [No inappropriate objects allowed!] The goal is to take said photo at the right angle/lighting/etc so the object fits in the Star Wars Universe as either a ship/weapon/etc. Explanation on what the object should represent must be included with the submission. Submissions will be graded by the Squadron Commander in a 'Whose line is it Anyway?' fashion. While that is purely subjective, grading will be based on creativity/uniqueness to determine a placement. Furthermore additional points shall be awarded for a submitted creative name or backstory. For starters the competition will run for four weeks. The 1st placed pilot each week shall be awarded with an IS-BR.
