Pete Gets Surprised Pete,
wearing his flight suit, was double-checking his quarters to make sure there wasn’t anything he forgot.
Satisfied, he grabbed his bag and helmet and
walked out. Exiting the
turbolift on the hangar level, Pete was intercepted by FA Plif. “Pete! You’re exercise with the Warrior is
cancelled.” “What? Why?” “The Grand
Admiral is on his way here. He has an
announcement.” “Oh
great. How soon will he arrive?” “Two hours.” “At least
we got lots of notice… I better get my
dress uniform on to greet him.” Two hours
later in the main hangar bay of the challenge, the entire contingent of
pilots and troopers were waiting as the Grand Admiral’s shuttle landed
smoothly. The Fleet Admirals Pete,
Plif, and Silvius stepped forward to greet the Grand Admiral. “Greetings
Grand Admiral! How may we serve you
today?” said Pete. “Well you’ve
done most of the work already. Just
stand at the front and we’ll get this party started. Sorry for the late notice. It was necessary to squeeze this in my
schedule.” “No problem
at all, sir.” Pete stood
at the front of the crowd as GA Rapier approached. He was followed by his assistant, carrying
a case. Pete recognized it from
several encounters with that case.
Larger than most medal cases, yet too small for most weapons. He couldn’t fully
mask his smile. Rapier
started, “Fleet Admiral Pete Mitchell! For just over a year as TCCOM and 11 months
as SOO before that you have been an outstanding flag officer and your
exemplary service at the top position of the Tie Corps have made you a
valuable individual. Congrats Pete... Try to keep the Challenge upright...
that inverted stuff gets old.” Rapier held
the medal up and Pete bent down to allow the Grand Admiral to place the eagle
around his neck. Pete stood up
straight and saluted. “Thank you very much, Sir” “You earned
it.” Replied Rapier as he handed Pete his ceremonial dagger to go with the
medal. Pete turned
around to face the crowd and held the dagger up. “Drinks are on me!” The entire ship cheered as loud as
ever. |
News |
Well, as
stated above, I was honored with the Grand Order of
the Emperor by GA Rapier at FA Plif’s
recommendation. Thank you very much! Just three
days left for TIE Corps in Battle submissions in July, so get to those ships! Also, Grand Admiral Ronin’s birthday is
coming up (August 21st), so begin planning the celebratory
drinking, and CMDR’s get those CoL nominations in! Plif
started a new competition so that squadrons can earn points to change ships,
roles, and even their names! It’s
called Squadron (Re)Mobilization. Join
in to change nearly anything you want in your squadron! It is progressing well so far. The
Saturday evening TC vs RS MP night is now official, so show up at 7 pm EST/4
pm pacific for those matches and work towards a DFC! |
