Pete’s Wallet Runs Dry Pete was
sorting through his messages when he saw and promotion that he didn’t
approve. “New rank for FA Pete
Mitchell” he read. “Well that spoils
the surprise, but it sure is very nice of the Grand Admiral… I guess I better
get my dress uniform on for the Grand Admiral’s announcement tonight. I wonder what he will say… Once
dressed, Pete turned to his R8-C6 droid.
“How do I look?” R8
responded with a couple short beeps and a whistle. “I did not
miss a spot there! And no, not all meatbags look the same!
Why do I even bother?” Pete
grabbed his cover and headed out the door.
Pete
stepped off his shuttle into the main hangar bay of the Sovereign. He chuckled to himself that this was the
most he’d been on the Sovereign since he was assigned to Wing III. He saluted the Grand Admiral and took his
place to Rapier’s right, facing the many of the other top officers of the
fleet, except Plif. Plif, of course,
couldn’t be in the same place as both Pete and the Grand Admiral, just in
case. Rapier
began his introduction and then began discussing the great accomplishments of
an officer which Pete immediately knew wasn’t him. “It is with
great pleasure I hereby promote VA Impulse to AD Impulse!” The pattern
continued with the new AD Miles Prower, FA Mark Schueler, and finally
himself. Then came
the most surprising part of the night… “The first
round’s on me,” “Woah, that never happens…” thought Pete. “Nice!” “After
that, it’s on these guys!” “OK, time
to party in the big house, guys!” Pete
cheered. “I could definitely get used
to this ship again, quick.” Pete walked
over to the bar of Rapier’s Brew Pub and ordered a craft Naboo
brown ale. “Would you
like to open a tab?” “Unfortunately,
yes. Every 4th round is on
me, excluding the first. I hope this
crowd doesn’t drink too much.” “Normally
it doesn’t get too rowdy, but it does look like Kappa showed up,” noted the
bartender, “and it looks like they brought their family. Wait, I think that might be a bunch of
cargo pilots…” “Oh great,
I’ll have to at least get rid of them, or I’ll owe my pension to you…” |

First,
congratulations to Admiral Impulse, AD Miles Prower, and FA Mark Schueler for
their promotions. Oh, I also got
promoted to FA. It looks
like the January MSE process is complete and just in time to start February’s. Also, thank
you to Kyle Kroan again, as he has finished some nice updated squadron
logos. Come join
us on MP nights at 730p EST on Discord.
It’s tonight this week. We’ll
see if it sticks on Tuesdays. |
