SOO REPORT #27

REPORTING OFFICER: Admiral Plif, Strategic Operations Officer
DATE SUBMITTED: 21 Jan 2019

NEWS

Since last time, the December evaluations have been returned to the COMs and medals are being awarded. MoCs are listed below, some of them are still in my queue so don't fret if you haven't actually received yours yet.

I had a couple of ideas for branching out the trivia competitions and I put together public tests for each of them. The first is the Aurebesh translation test, where you're presented with a word in Aurebesh and the answer is the word in English. The second is a Quote test, where I take a line from one of the movies, remove a word or two, and the answer is the word or words that are missing (note: there's an extra slash in one of the quotes, I know how to fix that for next time). These will each be open until midnight GMT next Sunday, and I'll give the player with the fastest time on each an IS-BR!

REMINDERS

If you complete a new Imperial University course, you'll notice that your EH database profile gets updated automatically but not your TC database profile. The latter are updated manually by me and the TCCOM, give us a day or two after your test is graded for the new course to appear in your TC profile.

MP Nights for XvT and XWA are on Thursdays at 5:30 Pacific, we meet up in the Hangar voice channel in TC Discord.

AWARDS
COL Earnim Branet
In December, COL Earnim Branet reaped the rewards of a year spent in the thick of multiple Corps-wide competitions. The Colonel finished at or near the top in TIE Corps vs. AI, TIE Corps on Recon, MP Ace of the TIE Corps, TIE Corps on Patrol, and the TIE Corps Pilot League, earning 35 Iron Stars for his efforts in December and 2018 in general. On top of exemplary flying activity (11 SP missions, 39 LoCs, and 72 LoSs), Branet issued regular Weekly Squadron Reports that included top-notch short fiction. For this level of outstanding activity, I recommend that COL Branet receive the Silver Star of the Empire.
RA Hav Antiel
Career award for reaching 2000 FCHG points
FA Silvius
Like clockwork, FA Silvius posted another incredible amount of LoSs in December and kept up with all the competitions he runs as the COO in addition to his normal duties. For his efforts, the TCCOM and I hereby award Silvius the Silver Star of the Empire.
CPT Rando
December was business as usual for CPT Rando: 26 SP missions flown and 5 new high scores, plus 3 LoCs and 24 LoSs from participation in the weekly MP meetings. However, 2018 marked the Captain's first full calendar year as a member of the TIE Corps, and Rando made full use of that time. He ended the year with top honors in multiple flying competitions, including TIE Corps on Patrol and the TIE Corps Pilot League. In fact, his haul of 35 Iron Stars in December was nearly more than I earned all year! For these sustained high levels of flying activity, I recommend the Bronze Star of the Empire.
CPT Tygra Shadowclaw
Career award for reaching 500 FCHG points
AD Pete Mitchell
After some disruptions in the months prior, December was a return to form for the TCCOM as he posted 9 mission completions, 52 LoCs, 55 LoSs, and completed two successful competitions in addition to his normal duties. For his efforts, I've recommend that he receive the Bronze Star of the Empire.
LCM DarkSith_99
Career award for reaching 250 FCHG points
RA Hav Antiel
Wrapping up a strong year of activity, over the course of December RA Hav Antiel completed a successful run for Ace of the TIE Corps, performed very well in the Trivia Grand Tour, and made a number of contributions to the wellbeing of the ISDII Warrior and the TIE Corps as a whole. To honor his dedication, the TCCOM and I are proud to recommend Hav for the Palpatine Crescent.

How the MoC is earned: In the monthly evaluations, each leader in the TIE Corps (CMDR+) lists all of the pilots that have checked in that month or communicated in a public forum. Those members are awarded an MoC with an oak cluster based on how many times they've earned the MoC in the past.

Oak Clusters: The MoC is always awarded with an oak cluster (MoC-boc, MoC-soc, etc.). For first two awards, it's a Bronze Oak Cluster. From there, the third award is Silver, the fourth and fifth awards are Bronze, the sixth award is Gold, the seventh and eighth awards are Bronze, the ninth award is Platinum, the tenth and eleventh awards are Bronze, and then the twelfth award is Diamond. After that, the cycle begins anew.
