Squadron Review

A longer than expected gap between reports - the intent being fortnightly at present, excepting busy periods and longer competitions. So I have little excuse for a 3 week gap other than a very relaxing holiday in northern Germany - sufice to say I'm now a well rested and relaxed Theta CMDR, albeit probably not for long! In my absence its been a quiet few weeks for Theta with the LO and TAC going about their duties and the remainder keeping active over Telegram and e-mail. For those of you not engaging in either at present, I urge you to consider firing off an e-mail or joining the TC Telegram community.

A host of TC CS and COM reports have been submitted in the last few weeks and I won't waste time repeating them, but there are a couple of highlights with a Theta impact. Firstly, the Commodore has once again been released, with Volume 5 now accessible through the TC News page. Well done to all who took the time to contribute and add a narrative flavour to everyday flying, LoAs are inbound - fiction is often a difficult activity to participate in and judge as we all have different ideas (or levels of comfort in sharing our efforts!) and visions of just what 'makes' Star Wars. Responses to the various trilogies should be evidence enough!

Secondly, the Warrior MWE was returned back from the TCCOM and SOO, approving and awarding GN Schueler a hard fought Bronze Star thanks to a strong flying contribution in the month of July. I hope to make many more medal and promotion recommendations for all of you in the months to come.

Competitions

This section will, in future, focus on competitions running primarily for Theta pilots as well as the Wing or TC, but it is always advisable to look at the Competitions Center and Combat Center for full details on all competitions. Theta competitions will be established in the next few weeks to look at encouraging both flight and other activity, so stay tuned!

TIE Corps on Patrol
For 2018, TCoP is moving to every other week. VA Pete Mitchell is taking the TCoP helm this year, so please note that BSF emails/pilot files will be due by 5 pm Pacific/8 pm Eastern/1 am London one every other Monday starting January 15.
TIE Corps Pilot League
Like TCoP, the Pilot League is a single-player comp taking place every other week. The difference here is that pilots have a rolling handicap. Each round, the pilot with the highest handicap score (expressed as a percentage of the high score) in each platform will earn 4 points. The next highest score will earn 3, the next highest 2, and all other submissions will earn 1. If the winning pilot in a platform also beat the high score (without the handicap added), that pilot will earn 5 points for that platform. There are more details about the handicap calculations on the competitions page, but needless to say, I'm very excited about this one!
TIE Corps on Recon
Submit a screenshot each week from one of Star Conflict's multiplayer game modes (Domination, Beacon Hunt, PvE, Team Battle, and Combat Recon). Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

Submit a screenshot each week from Star Conflict's Player vs. AI modes. Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

Wing II Commander's Escort Flight / Warrior Commodore's Escort Flight
These are MP and SP versions of the same comp: fly enough missions to rank among the top four on the Warrior for the month to earn points. Iron Stars are awarded to the top four every month with a quarterly bonus. For the Commodore's Escort Flight, LoCs and LoSs are summed for the total.
