Admiral Pete Mitchell waited patiently
in the hangar bay of the ISDII Challenge with a small contingent of men, watching
a shuttle pull into the bay and land.
As the chin opened up, Pete stepped forward. Admiral Plif stepped off the boarding
ramp and saluted. Pete returned the salute. “Welcome to the Challenge, Admiral!” “Thank you, Pete” “I trust your stay will be
comfortable. Are your personal effects
on the shuttle?” “No.
This shuttle is mostly my notes with ideas for the fleet. My personal effects are on a second
shuttle, it should be here in 23 minutes.”
“Well, you wasted no time… Let me show you to your quarters while your
notes are unloaded.” Pete motioned to
the men he was waiting with and they snapped into action. “Let me know when you are settled and ready
to get started.” When Pete returned to his office, his
intercom beeped. It was his faithful
assistant CPT Cal Sinis that had been with him
since he was promoted to the Commodore of the Warrior. “Sir, I have General Frown on the line for
you.” “Again?!! Tell him he cannot be the new Commodore of
the Warrior!” “He’s asking why, Sir.” “How about he is lacking in certain
necessary skills… like leadership…” “I’ll get rid of him, Sir.” “While you are at it, send him a memo to
the same effect, in triplicate.” “It will be my pleasure, Admiral!” Pete just activated his data screen in
front of him, when his intercom beeped again.
“COL Blackheart for you, Sir.” “Patch him through, please.” “Admiral, I have some ideas and a long
term strategy I’d like to discuss with you.” “OK Colonel, I have a little time. Give me the executive summary…” Half an hour later, the Colonel was
continuing, when there was a knock on his open door and Plif’s
head popped in. “Come on in Plif! Horus, I’m afraid our time is up. I agree in principle with most of your
thoughts, if not exactly in execution.
We will continue this later.”
He turned off his comm. “What’s going on, Plif? Is there something wrong with your
quarters?” “No, Sir, you told me to come by when I
was ready to get started…” “Oh, wow… Well then, by all means, let’s get to it!” Pete gave a slight wave of his hand
towards the door, and it closed with a soft click. |

News |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Not
a tons of news this week. Plif and I
are settling into our new offices and discussing ideas to move the fleet
forward. Those that we like, will be
discussed in larger groups then executed.
By the way, feel free to drop us a line with any ideas you may
have. Few ideas are off the table. Speaking
of ideas, I would like to host another TC meeting this weekend. My first proposal will be to hold it at 7
pm GMT/3 pm Eastern/noon Pacific on Telegram.
Please RSVP or state your conflict and propose a new time by emailing
me. I will entertain a discord
meeting, but only if there are people actually showing up that can’t use
Telegram. Please bring your ideas for
improvement of the fleet (preferably larger-scale and longer term, but we’ll
take anything) After the meeting, we will do some sort of MP or Coop and move
to Discord voice for that. MoC’s
from June have been awarded and are listed below in a slightly lazy method. Those are the only medals listed, as now
the other medals are handled by AD Plif. On
a sad note and administrative lapse, SL TrooperM
was transferred to the reserves this week (rather than last) as a result of
June MSE’s. I’m
not sure if this really qualifies as news, as it happens so often, but CPT
Rando swept another week of TCoP with one high score! By the way, it was rather difficult to find
and XvT mission where CPT Rando didn’t already have the high score… |

Party BSF emails/pilot files will be due by 5 pm
Pacific/8 pm Eastern/1 am London on Monday July 30. Rules: It’s a new year, so this will change a
little. Every TWO weeks, there will be
a free mission from each of the major SP platforms (TIE, XvT, XWA)
assigned. Pilots will fly each mission
that they choose and BSF the battles to the TC database and forward the BSF
email to Pete Mitchell. If the pilot has
earned a high score, BSF it and also send the pilot file to Pete Mitchell in
case the BSF is not approved in time. Each week the pilot with the highest
score in each platform will earn 4 points.
The next highest score will earn 3, the next highest 2, and all other
submissions will earn 1. If the
winning pilot in a platform also earned a high score, that pilot will earn 5
points for that platform. Points will
accumulate for the week, month, and year for more awards. Awards: Annual: IS-PW/GW/SW for 1st 2nd
and 3rd total points for the year.
(at least 5 participants) IS-GW/SW/BW for 1st 2nd
and 3rd total points for the year in each platform (at least 4
participants) Monthly: IS-GW/SW/BW for 1st 2nd
and 3rd total points for the month (at least 3 participants). Weekly: IS-SW/BW for 1st and 2nd
total points for the week (at least 3 participants). IS-SW/BW for 1st and 2nd
in each platform (at least 2 participants). TIE Corps Pilot League 2018: Round 14 Assignments: TIE-Free 56: Drizzt
#1 – Current HS – 66,496 XvT-Free 23: Raith’s
Promotion – Current HS – 58,963 XWA-Free 23: Battle of Baraton – Current HS – 15,148 Rules: This competition is similar to TIE Corps
on patrol, but it is handicapped to make it accessible to more pilots. Every TWO weeks, there will be a free
mission from each of the major SP platforms (TIE, XvT, XWA) assigned. Pilots will fly each mission that they
choose and BSF the battles to the TC database and forward the BSF email to
Pete Mitchell. If the pilot has earned
a high score, BSF it and also send the pilot file to Pete Mitchell in case
the BSF is not approved in time. BSF emails/pilot files will be due by 5 pm
Pacific/8 pm Eastern/1 am London on July 23. Each week the pilot with the highest
handicap score (expressed as a % of the high score) in each platform will
earn 4 points. The next highest score
will earn 3, the next highest 2, and all other submissions will earn 1. If the winning pilot in a platform also
beat the high score (without the handicap added), that pilot will earn 5
points for that platform. It is
possible for a pilot to be the only pilot to beat the high score, and not win
that platform. If for example, pilot A
got 90% of the high score and has a 25% handicap for a total of 115%, and
pilot B got 105% of the existing HS (and earned a new HS) with a handicap of
5% for a total of 110%, Pilot A would win the platform for the week for 4
points and pilot 3 would only earn 3 points. Points will accumulate for the
week, month, and year for more awards. Handicaps will be calculated as follows: The average score in the platform as a
percent of the high scores will be calculated as an average of all scores on
that platform since the beginning of the League (avg). The handicap will be calculated as the difference
between the average and 100%. For
example, if a pilot’s average score in TIE is 75% of the HS, his handicap
will be 100%-75%=25%. If a pilot then
scored 85,000 pts on a mission with an existing HS of 100,000 points, his
handicap score would be 85% + 25% = 110%. *The first round any pilot flies in any
platform will not have a handicap added as the pilot will not have an
average. Therefore, the first round,
there are no handicaps, only scratch scores.
**I reserve the right to create a maximum
handicap. At this point, it is
75%. Awards: Annual: IS-PW/GW/SW for 1st 2nd
and 3rd total points for the year.
(at least 5 participants) IS-GW/SW/BW for 1st 2nd
and 3rd total points for the year in each platform (at least 4
participants) IS-GW/SW/BW for 1st 2nd
and 3rd most improved averages over the year in each platform (at
least 4 participants, must have flown at least 10 missions) Monthly: IS-GW/SW/BW for 1st 2nd
and 3rd total points for the month (at least 3 participants). Weekly: IS-SW/BW for 1st and 2nd
total points for the week (at least 3 participants). IS-SW/BW for 1st and 2nd
in each platform (at least 2 participants). |
