SIN WEEKLY SQUADRON REPORT #31
SIN CMDR: MAJ Hav Antiel
REPORT DATE: 28 January 2018
SQUADRON COMMANDER'S CORNER
It's been a busy time for your commander the last two weeks, pilots. The dreaded flu and some RL commitments kept me away. Sorry for the delay.

Although it may seem a little quiet around the TC lately, there are some important updates to keep in mind:
  • Imperial Storm is underway, and we can expect some action soon. Stay tuned for an upcoming assignment and remember: the two highest scores count in our battles against the Hammer and the TCCS.

  • My new comp, Project 659, is still in the planning stages, but be ready for some SP battle assignments in February for TIE Fighter, XvT, and X-Wing Alliance.

  • There's less than a month left for the TAC's latest comp, Operation: Extermination, and it would be wonderful to see some Sin participation. This comp is all about repairing buggy SP missions and battles, which is good news for everyone.
SQUADRON NEWS
  • Rando earned a well-deserved promotion to Commander. Contrats, CM Rando!
  • CM Rando sweeps TCoP Round 1, including a new high score for TIE-Free 295.
  • CM Rando and LC Branet finish second and fourth in the TIE Corps Pilot League Round 1.
  • LC Branet finishes second in TCAI Week 3.
  • LC Branet finishes second in TCoR Week 3.
COMPETITIONS

I will summarize competitions that apply to Sin in this section, but you should always check the Competitions Center and Combat Center for full details on all competitions.

  • TIE Corps on Patrol
For 2018, TCoP is moving to every other week. VA Pete Mitchell is taking the TCoP helm this year, so please note that BSF emails/pilot files will be due by 5 pm Pacific/8 pm Eastern/1 am London one every other Monday starting January 15.

  • TIE Corps Pilot League
Like TCoP, the Pilot League is a single-player comp taking place every other week. The difference here is that pilots have a rolling handicap. Each round, the pilot with the highest handicap score (expressed as a percentage of the high score) in each platform will earn 4 points. The next highest score will earn 3, the next highest 2, and all other submissions will earn 1. If the winning pilot in a platform also beat the high score (without the handicap added), that pilot will earn 5 points for that platform. There are more details about the handicap calculations on the competitions page, but needless to say, I'm very excited about this one!

  • Imperial Storm - A New Hope
This is the turn-based map campaign that the WARDs have been working on for some time. Battle teams led by the Warrior, Hammer, and TCCS battle for dominance over systems on the map. Be on the look out for SP and MP assignments, pilots.

  • TIE Corps on Recon
Submit a screenshot each week from one of Star Conflict's multiplayer game modes (Domination, Beacon Hunt, PvE, Team Battle, and Combat Recon). Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

  • TIE Corps vs AI
Submit a screenshot each week from Star Conflict's Player vs. AI modes. Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

  • Wing II Commander's Escort Flight / Warrior Commodore's Escort Flight
These are MP and SP versions of the same comp: fly enough missions to rank among the top four on the Warrior for the month to earn points. Iron Stars are awarded to the top four every month with a quarterly bonus. For the Commodore's Escort Flight, LoCs and LoSs are summed for the total.

CLOSING COMMENTS
All three MSEs have finally been sent to AD Plif, so awards and updates should be forthcoming. Just in time for the January MSE!

I aim to have the finishing touches for my new comp in place before the start of the new week. I hope it's something interests you, pilots. As always, keep me posted on your ideas and interests.
