A number of my closest colleagues in the TC know that a 12 month stint as as Admiral was my aim, and I have now reached that milestone! As such, I have come to the decision that it is time to step down. My last day as COO will be October 31st 2016. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the MP players who have kept me busy this year as I processed their screens; Woody and Pell for their guidance and tolerance of an admiral who didn't always agree with their ideas, and their very rigorous, yet enjoyable, debates at such times; Silvius, for his unwavering support as COOA; Kappa squadron, for allowing me to still hang around the squadron rec-rooms making a nusicance of myself; and those pilots who I have individually spoken to about a whole range of things that have come up over the year. I am stepping down not as I no longer wish to help run the TC - I have thoroughly enjoyed doing so this last year, and I will be seeing fresh opportunities to take an active role in supporting and developing the TC. However, after a year in the role of COO, I have recognised that there are others who would enjoy and benefit from the opportunity of leading MP activity here in the TC, and to remain any longer would be denying some very deserving people such an opportunity. As such, I have already made a recommendation to the Admiralty as to who my successor could be. Further announcements will follow in due course. My plan now is to see out the month of October as COO, and at that point find myself a new home in the TC. My old bunk is currently occupied, so I am somewhat open to ideas as to where I should take myself for November! Anyway, the main reason is so that my successor will have time to select their own COOA, for them to complete the COO Course, and any further reasignments required to be properly processed. Besides, 13 is a somewhat lucky number for me, so completing 13 months as COO seems fitting. So, there we are. Thanks again to all for helping make this year a fascinating time, and something I will always look back on fondly. Oh, and if anything does come up, Admiralty level CV available upon request! STAR CONFLICT COMBAT EVENT We still seem to be looking at around the 15th and 16th October to host a TC Star Conflict Combat Event. The few responces I have had seem to think this will be doable - although I may extend it to the friday 14th as well, so people busy Sat and Sun can still get a game or two in. If this is a real problem for anyone who wishes to take part, please let me know. |
