LOC screenshots waiting to be processed: 0 LOS screenshots waiting to be processed: 0 [SALUTE] Welcome to the COO Report! MP SUBMISSIONS UPDATE I didn't get a responce to this last time, which means I'm going to assume that people felt it sounded fair! I aim to get the proposed guidelines for the submission of MP screens updated to 'official' within the next week or so. They will mostly affect those competitions that track weekly/monthly competitions. In essence, you can earn LoCs and LoS for any valid screen that you have not previously submitted. However, those LoS and LoCs will only count towards a competition IF they were taken during the competition's time period. So, screens taken two months ago will not count towards the MP Killboard competition for the month, but would for the yearly count (as they happened within that timeframe). You may have noticed my 'official' (complete with inverted commas). This is because these are guidelines, NOT hard and fast rules, or at least, that will be my intent. Normally, these guidelines will be considered rules, and deliberate cheating attempts (screen hording for a later competition, for example), will be dealt with appropriately. However, as guidelines they will allow flexibility for genuine mistakes, or special consideration under excpetional circumstances. So, a reminder of the guidelines:
COO COMPETITIONS - A FEW QUESTIONS Ok, I have a couple of questions about COO Competitions. At the moment, the Combat Office Combat Events and Competitions are auto-entry. The very fact that you submit a MP screen often enters you into a competition. You don't have to do anything for it other than play the game you would have been playing otherwise. I'm not sure how I feel about this. So I have some questions, and would love some feedback! Please answer in reply to this mail! 1) Do you change the way you play MP specifically to improve your performance in a competition? For example, do you go for more assists if that is the focus of the monthly comp, or fly Interceptors more when the competition is for highest objectives? 2) Do you feel competitions that are rewarding something other than total monthly participation (such as in the MP Ace of the TIE Corps) are best served by auto-entry, or should there be specific submission via email? I ask because I've noticed the low participation in some other submission comps (such as last week's TCOP). MP Competition participatioin is usualy high, but then no one has to do anything special to take part. You can earn IS-GWs for doing nothing other than fly the game you'd fly anyway. Is that level of reward a fair one in comparision to those where you have to specifically take action to participate? It also increases the likelihood of our current PvP objectives competiton, with a greater chance for multiple winners! Would love to hear your thoughts!! |
