MISSION REPORT

EXTRACT ONLY

The patrol was going as normal. We've flown that route hundreds of times with no incidents besides the odd broken down transport. We weren't expecting any trouble.

We were just past the half way marker when a transport, bearing Mugaari markings, dropped out of hyperspace about 2 klicks from us. We adjusted our heading, made the usual ID requests and made for an inspection pass. We got no reply. The pass showed no lifesigns, and no indication of droids either. We were about to call it in when the transport opened fire on us with ion weapons. Two of our Interceptors were disabled almost immediately.

We tried to engage the transport, but it must have been modified somehow. It seems to be bristling with ion cannons - every angle we approached from brought a hail of fire our way - we just couldn't get close. IT made as if to board the disabled Interceptors. I was pretty sure it never actually docked, just stopped near by. However, it must have done something as the disabled Interceptors suddenly came online, shunted all power to engines and flew away. Their course had them heading out of system. Not sure why. But we couldn't raise the pilots. I assume they have been captured.

We kept a safe distance from the transport, got around it and pursued our 'captured' Interceptors. We couldn't keep up, even with all power to engines. I've no idea where they drew the additional power from. We had to call off once we were at maximum fuel range, before heading back. The squadron of Gunships that arrived to deal with the transport were searching the area as we passed, but the transport had already left the system.

NOTE: Several such incidents have now been recorded. Ship type and identification markings vary, but the mission description of an unidentified vessel arriving with no life or droid signs, multiple adaptations, and 'capturing' vessels via an as yet unidentified method has simmilartities to at least 47 other recently recorded events. Recommend matter is investigated as matter of urgancy

STAR WARS MP COMPETITION

For the month of February, I would like to encourage you all to have a go at some SW Multiplayer!

We currently have no less than 5 Star Wars platforms available for multiplayer:
* X Wing vs TIE Fighter
* X Wing Alliance
* Imperial Alliance
* Freelancer: Freeworlds
* Battlefront 3

Your challenge is to be the pilot who flies the most MP missions in any given platform. Even losses count, so get onto XvT, XWA, GS, or whatever, and submit your entries via the normal process. Losses won't earn LoC/LoS, but they will count towards the competition total.

TCAI

The TIE Corps vs AI competition has gotten off to a strong start! Second week in and we've got 16 pilots racking up activity points. Well done to CM Silvius for his enthuisiastic promotion of the competition. I encourage you all to get some SC PvE time in and send Silvius some screens!

PERSONAL

My little TIE Fighter mission design project - the X Wing in TIE Fighter project - is still ticking along nicely. As my team has grown slightly, we have decided to set up a ModDB page, linked above. Although the whole thing will go through the EH, a little external advertising will help keep us going.

COO's Star Wars Challenge - whole TC
Let's face it... this is a Star Wars themed club!

For February, I would like to encourage the playing of Star Wars themed MP Matches.

We currently have no less than 5 Star Wars platforms available for multiplayer:
* X Wing vs TIE Fighter
* X Wing Alliance
* Imperial Alliance
* Freelancer: Freeworlds
* Battlefront 3

Your challenge is to be the pilot who flies the most MP missions in any given platform.

For each platform, medals will be awarded to the one, two or three players who submitted the most matches. Matches can be any valid PvP or PvE game format.

For this competition, I will also accept matches that are losses. They will NOT earn a LoC or LoS, but will count towards your total number of Star Wars MP matches played. This way, even PvP matches between TC pilots will count for both competitors. A little extra incentive to get onto those SW platforms!

Matches, including SW based losses, should be submitted using the normal MP and MP Co-op match report pages in your TC Admin page. The COO and COOA will process the results, approving with or without LoC/LoS as appropriate.

All normal submission requirements apply. Submissions will be processed manually by the COO and COOA through the normal MP submission process.

January Standings:
Top 3 ranked pilots:

1st - COL Stephens
2nd - MAJ Drachen
3rd - AD M. Schueler

COO'S ACTIVITIES
Proudly recieved a CoL
Recieved TAC Assignments
Mail/telegram activity
Played XvT for SW MP comp
Processed LoC and LoS
Continued work on my XWiTF project, including setting up ModDB page

AND FINALLY...
My own personal MP activity will be down a little this month, as I have both TAC assignments AND am getting heavily stuck into XWiTF at the moment. My little team is growing - I now have a guy involved who hopes to be able to help me get my head around editing new cutscenes. Impulse put me on a path, but at the moment it is a little beyond my understanding! If YOU would like to help, please get in touch!
