TCCOM Report #4
FA La’an, 9/2/09

Its been a period of significant change in the past few weeks and Im very happy to be able to put amongst these changes a pair of notable command appointments.

Id like to again formally congratulate VA Viper Pred and VA Astin for their appointments to SOO and DEAN respectively. I knew both were skilled and capable officers from personal experience and their first weeks in their new roles have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the best officers were chosen.

The SOO is currently overhauling and rewriting thr TC Manual, Ive been able to read the Beta and been nothing short of impressed by the attention to detail. This in addition to his primary role and I must say that my XO is kicking my arse as much as those of my WCs! We have settled into an effective command triumvirate and the decision making process for the TC is both logical and effecient.

The DEAN is currently playing the part of Lazarus and resurrecting the fallen IWATS, assisted greatly by a near complete copy of the old Imperial Academy website. As you can see from his report work involved is difficult and tedious but will ultimately be a massive benefit to the group as a whole and the wider EH with the appointment of Mordred (HF) as new TO.

An issue with the database directing all formal mails to tccom@emperorshammer.org when this address has not in fact been set up yet has meant that I am relying on being informed of many database changes second hand, its not ideal but its being rectified - so please forgive me the absence of detailed transfers and listings.

The TC site continues to expand by leaps and bounds as bugs are uncovered and eliminated, I have reccomend Dempsey to the FC and XO for her work and I hope that suitable rewards will be forthcoming very soon. Work in the EH, for a common good, will never go unrewarded.

Whilst we are in the midst of a positive bounce there are however teething problems, to be expected during periods of significant upheaval. The site is understandably a very complex mechanism requiring detail and attention, however basic aspects of the TC are beginning to be overlooked.

I am referring to reports and communications - between some CMDRs and their squads the level of contact has fallen drastically, hard to bear particularly at a time when the TC is composed of so few squads.

My own shoddy report keeping is of course not an example to follow but something I am aware of and attempting to remedy - and everyone is aware of this. What we cannot have is total silence from any command figure, the omission of any comms or the prolonged absence of reporting. These are basic duties to be maintained by CMDRs and WCs and those who cannot meet the basic duties have no place in a position of authority.

The restructure eliminated some leadership positions so that we could concentrate on being selective and choosing the best. I have great faith that we have the best officers for the job in every slot, but should this opinion change I will not be found wanting in addressing the issue.

I know everyone is capable of high standards and, after a long period of downtime and a lot of almost blind progress forwards, I expect these high standards to be maintained.

A little dour but necessary, so I will end on a brighter note. The MBs have been updated to reflect VIs new mothership, whilst Omega has been reallocated to the Phoenix, although the forum is retained in the quick access listing of the main TC forum. Remember the EH MBs are at eh.stryfe.net and there for all of us - especially with the COMMs revival of the MoC system. Comms builds a community and generate activity - all of it good.

Stay tuned for details in the coming days of a RtF style TC comp to be held later this month.

Regards

FA Jarek La'an, TCCOM
