COO REPORT
COO REPORT #3
FROM: COO/RA Hawkins
DATE SUBMITTED: 17th October 2015
TALES FROM THE AGGRESSOR
I was sat there for the third time this week. In front of my eyes - the inactive beacon. My computer systems were ready to take over the beacon, as soon as it activated. My weapons were ready to shoot down the enemy.

I could not forget how I got this mission assigned. I was in my room, revising for my test on 'Wookie Studies'. Suddenly, the door was opened with a loud crash and LC Clark stood in the frame.

With only a few words, he sent me to RA Hawkins, our new COO. At the time, I was confused; what I have done wrong? There were only a few reports which were denied by the COO, because something was missing or small detail was inaccurate. But why a one-on-one interview? Surely that would be a little abrupt and inappropriate for any such minor offence.

Never the less, I took the shortest route to the Combat Operation Office. It was a short briefing. An undercover mission outside the TC to support an ally. No more words, no more discussion. It was an order which I was eager to follow.

Without interruption or furor, I was transported to the Jericho territory. As an undercover pilot, I would help the Jericho forces to capture beacons from the Federation. This would weaken the Federation severely and allow our covert allies to make a great strike against them.

Furthermore, as an undercover pilot, I had the possibility to slip through the security systems of the Jericho and gather essential information for the any strike that may be needed against them, once the Federation was defeated.

The fights against the Federation were endless. Every day, missions were sent to capture beacons - to control areas of space. Every mission was different – quick and dirty or slow and safe.
This time, I was at a beacon which was not active. The systems of the beacon were down and would start in a few seconds. My systems were ready to take over.

It was the thrilling phase of the fight. The rest of my team was fighting at the other end of the sector against the Federation forces, attempting to take over another beacon. The fight there would end soon and the forces would jump in my direction.

When the beacon activated its systems, my computer system took control of it and I focused on the incoming forces.

The distance between us decreased every second. But they are not range of my weapons... not yet.

My fingers played over the button to fire the first volley. We were all eager to shoot down the first enemy; we all want to see the first blood in this mission.

The signal that the beacon is captured rings out and the first slavos from the enemy forces strikes against my shields.

I grab the rudder and fired off my weapons at the enemy. The shields of his ship cracked under the hail of bullets. It did not take long for them break down completely.

With an evil grin on my lips, I pressed the button for my torpedoes. In the short distance between our ships, I could see the fear in his eyes.

Deep in my body, I felt sorry for him. But it is my duty as a member of the TC to fulfill my assignment completely and satisfactorily. Consideration for the enemy is not an option.

The first ship is down but reinforcements were already there.

It was a heavy fight. My ship took a lot of damage. But I had killed 3 other enemies already. The beacon was in permanent possession of my team. It shone with a pale blue light, the sign that our control is still complete and active.

Around me, the ships of my team and the enemy forces were destroyed. The explosions were loud, booming in my ears.

There were only two ships left on the side of the Federation. The commander of our team shot the first ship down.

The last enemy.

The last obstacle in front of our victory.

My guns fired at his shield. The shield cracks after a few shots. The bullets rattled on his hull plating. I set my last torpedo in motion, and the enemy exploded in pieces.

Over the communication link, I heard the howls of victory from my team members. I was thrilled, too. It was the 3rd victory this week. Only a few sectors more and the Federation would be weak enough that the Emperor's Hammer could make a direct strike against them and take a huge victory.

With a last glance at the beacon, I started my engine. It was a great feeling to capture a beacon. It would carry our name. Not in letters, but everyone would know that it was me who won the battle over this beacon. And anyone must defeat me, to take complete control over this beacon again.

NEWS
LOC screenshots waiting to be processed: 3
LOS screenshots waiting to be processed: 3

This week has been an odd one. My office redecoration was delayed following a biological contageon that required my office and quarters to be quarentined until it could be purified (i.e. sick baby). The Competitions have been fascinating to watch - at least, the objective one has! Changes in positions, rapid climbing of the ranks... I'm considering actually going for the full list for comps not already displayed on the TC website, just so you can see how things change. Or better yet, work out how they can be added to the TC site... must talk to someone about that!

THE SEARCH FOR A NEW COOA CONTINUES

As you know, at the end of the month I will appoint a new COOA - my assistant in keeping the many, many PvP and PvE submissions processed, running MP competitions and promoting Multiplayer activities within the TC. I have this week mailed each applicant so far to discuss the position, but am still open to further offers. I will make my decision by October 25th, and announce the successful candidate officially the following weekend (the last day of the month). Please email me any further applications - Final Notice!

COO FICTION

This week, LT Silvius kindly agreed to be a guinea pig for a little idea I had. We have such an active MP community, but my side of it is very admin related - I don't get out into the pilot seat enough! So, rather than tale after tale of reading reports and desk-jobs, I invited an active MP pilot to submit a fiction inspired by his own MP experiences. I asked LT Silvius first, as he currently leads the Objectives competition for SC. I will be contacting other prominant players to invite them to submit fictions as well. Hopefully, pilots will enjoy seeing their fictions prominantly displayed, recorded for posterity in the report archive. I will also collect the fictions, with an eye to finding them a more fitting home for the future.
Any one interested in submitting a fiction, please email me any fiction submissions you would like to write.
