Commodore HA Dempsey reporting
Report ID: H.AD.010
Report date: April 12, 2015
The mighty Imperial-II class Star Destroyer Hammer silently moved through the darkness of space. In the distance, a lone blue hypergiant could be seen, it's light outshining all other stars in the neighborhood. The Hammer didn't mind, nor did the crew who were in control of the sublight engines and maneuvering thrusters, they were flying on sensors. Not too far from the Hammer, a small and battered Carrack-class Cruiser was trying to make its escape. And while it may have been able to outrun the Star Destroyer pursuing it, she definitely didn't stand a chance against the quartet of TIE Defenders that had just launched from the Hammer's hangar bay. Right behind them, a Gamma-class ATR-6 Transport had launched as well, carrying the maximum of forty elite stormtroopers. Its pilot could make out the shape of the Carrack as it blocked out the hypergiant's light, and he could even see the proton torpedoes detonating against its hull. Soon, and most certainly by the time he would get there, the Carrack would be dead in the water, its electrical systems completely fried by the ion cannon fire of the TIE Defenders.
On the bridge of the Star Destroyer, High Admiral Dempsey looked at her status display. The status on the Carrack had just changed to 'disabled', and the transport carrying the
troopers was approaching quickly. One by one the blips indicating the Carrack's defending starfighters disappeared as the TIE Defenders of Beta Squadron made short work of them.
It wouldn't be too long before the information the Carrack carried was hers.
Welcome to another report, folks. Activity on the Hammer is picking up, partly due to the activity of the newly promoted LT Archenksov, who is participating all over the ship in flying activities, both SP and MP, and other stuff. Good job to you, lieutenant! Also kudos to LT Lord Toxicon who makes his first appearance on the MP Kill Board!
Meanwhile I noticed the Warrior's evaluation for March has been submitted while the Hammer's evaluation has not. Usually it's the other way around, but I still have one more MSE to receive. Received or not, I will submit the monthly evaluation this Wednesday.
Exciting times are ahead as it seems several pilots are starting to dust off the old multiplayer games: there's actually MP flying going on in X-wing vs TIE Fighter and X-wing Alliance. I may have to get myself involved with that soon. I always did like those games.
I'm also happy to be playing some Pazaak against TC pilots for a change, instead of just the random non TC member who happens to be there. It's a fun game, go try it if you never have. Especially when with little time to spare, you can get some quick games in!
The one bit of bad news this week concerns myself. It seems my domination of the TIE Corps on Patrol competition is fading, as this week I managed to score not a single win. For the first time since the creation of this competition, I am not in the lead. I may have to hire a bounty hunter to kill Yoda before the month is over. If you have any suggestions, you know where to find me!
I will probably have to go and hire a bounty hunter anyway to punish the Warrior Commodore for his behavior. Apparently I am so much of a threat to him that he needed to add extra bonus points in a competition where Warrior pilots are encouraged to specifically go after MY High Scores. Why oh why, and whatever have I done......

Dempsey's Weekly Riddles
Every week, the report will have a riddle. First pilot to send the correct answer to the mailing list wins. Each victory earns you an IS-BR. Unless it's a 5th victory, you then get a IS-SR. Unless it's a 10th victory, which gives you an IS-GR. A 25th victory will give you an IS-PR!
This week's riddle: There are two barbershops on Aurora - one in the Northern Hemisphere, and one in the Southern. The one in the Northern Hemisphere is clean, with the floors and windows spotless, and is run by a well dressed and well groomed barber who is always friendly, smiling, and quick for a nice conversation. The shop in the Southern Hemisphere is dirty, it hasn't been cleaned in weeks, and the barber is wearing dirty clothes, his hair is ragged and his skin is oily. He is always in a bad mood and rarely says a word. One day a stranger arrives on Aurora and decides to geta haircut while waiting for his ship to be loaded. He hears of the two barbers, and obviously picks the barberhsop in the Southern Hemisphere to get his hair done. Why does he pick the dirty barbershop instead of the clean one?
Last week's winner: LT Archenksov
Current standings: VA Woody: 5; LC Clark: 2; HA Bonini, COL La'an, LC Tempest, CPT Fenn, CM Jast, CM Hawkins, LCM Doc, LT Archenksov: 1
Hammer on Recon
Submit your StarConflict screenshots to me. For Domination and Beacon Hunt, the highest number of captures wins. For Team Battle and Combat recon, the highest number of "kills" wins, with assists counting for half a kill (rounded up). Submissions not earning a medal will earn an activity point. First place wins an IS-SW, 2nd a IS-BW (with 2 submissions or more, otherwise IS-BW for first). Submissions earn 4 pts for 1st, 3 pts for 2nd, 2 pts for 3rd and 1 pt for others. At the end of the month, the top 3 MP flyers will earn an IS-GW, IS-SW and IS-BW. 10 activity points wins an IS-BW and every 50th activity point will earn an IS-SW. Tie breakers: kills for Domination and Beacon Hunt, Captain Kill or pure kills for Team battle and Combat Recon.

With March now solidly behind us, it's time to look at the future. A new ship wide competition is in the works. I'm thinking of running it in June, which should be most profitable for those who elect to participate. In the mean time, all pilots are to hone their skills in all fields of activity!
