Commodore HA Dempsey reporting
Report ID: H.AD.005
Report date: March 8, 2015
High Admiral Dempsey stared at the report she had received. This was not a satisfying moment. She stood up and paced around the office for awhile. Apparently, the pilots of the ISD-II
Hammer needed a little more incentive. Many thoughts raced through her mind. Random beatings, a game of pin-the-tail-on-the-pilot, or simple and plain tossing-out-of-the-nearest airlock.
After a few moments, she walked back over to her desk, and keyed the comm channel to her XO. Start the second round of the games, she said, while she thought of several more unpleasant
punishments...
As you may have guessed, I wasn't overly impressed with the participation rate in the Hammer's March Mayhem this week. 4 out of a possible 35 screenshots were submitted, and only 1 Squadron Commander! I really do expect better in round 2! Speaking of round 2 - the code has been completed, so enjoy the first timed event in TC history. To give all an equal chance at winning, the time needed to complete this week's trivia will start counting when you open the page with the questions, and not when I send out this report!
More news from the Hammer this week: it seems I caused a small flood on the mailing list this week when I was testing to see if my settings were correct. Yay me!
On to the real news: we have not one, not two, but three pilots assigned to the Hammer this week, an old veteran who has returned (welcome to you LCM Trideo Arkson, and COL Golbez Harvey), and a brand new rookie, SL Varis Palharris. SL Varis was assigned to Delta while the other two were assigned positions in Beta Squadron - I hope your stay there will be a pleasant and a lucrative one. It also leaves only one empty command position, as COL Harvey was assigned to a Flight Leader spot in Beta. Anyone interested in a Flight Leader spot, send your application to COL Almasy and myself.
More big news. It appears we may have a first person to score an IS-SR in Dempsey's Weekly Riddles, as the SOO scored his 4th win last week. Will he win his IS-SR, or will he be thwarted!
General call to all Hammer pilots who fly Star Conflict: don't forget to submit screenshots for Hammer on recon - send your best result to me for this one. Several pilots who are flying and winning LoCs are not submitting their screenshots. I don't mind that much, my chances of actually winning something get better this way, but it's more fun if more people play!
I'll need all Hammer pilots to exercise a little patience when it comes to the monthly evaluations. I've been in contact with all Commanders, and the last two MSEs should be on my desk shortly!
If you wish to take on any of the following positions, send an application to the Squadron Commander (if applicable) and Commodore:

Dempsey's Weekly Riddles
Every week, the report will have a riddle. First pilot to send the correct answer to the mailing list wins. Each victory earns you an IS-BR. Unless it's a 5th victory, you then get a IS-SR. Unless it's a 10th victory, which gives you an IS-GR. A 25th victory will give you an IS-PR!
This week's riddle: What occurs once in a second, once in a minute, twice in a millennium, but never in the course of a lifetime?
Last week's winner: VA Elwood the Brave
Current standings: VA Woody: 4; HA Bonini, COL La'an, LC Clark, CPT Fenn, LCM Doc: 1
Hammer on Recon
Submit your StarConflict screenshots to me. For Domination and Beacon Hunt, the highest number of captures wins. For Team Battle and Combat recon, the highest number of kills wins, with assists counting for half a kill (rounded up). Submissions not earning a medal will earn an activity point. First place wins an IS-SW, 2nd a IS-BW (with 2 submissions or more, otherwise IS-BW for first). Submissions earn 4 pts for 1st, 3 pts for 2nd, 2 pts for 3rd and 1 pt for others. At the end of the month, the top 3 MP flyers will earn an IS-GW, IS-SW and IS-BW. 10 activity points wins an IS-BW and every 50th activity point will earn an IS-SW.

Week 2: Trivia
You should visit the following URL and complete the 10 trivia questions: Trivia questions link!.
Note that your time will begin once you first load the page, and it will continue counting until you have submitted your answers. You only get one shot at this, because once
submitted the page will not let you play again! The winner is the one with most correct answers, and if a tie breaker is needed, the time needed to submit your answers will decide.
PS: a little trick I borrowed from the neighbours: each player will receive the same questions, but the qustions will be in a different order :)
PPS: needless to say - you will need to log into the site first before following this link! If you are not logged in, you will get a blank screen!
Monthly: fiction
The ISD-II Hammer is preparing to engage a convoy of freighters protected by two well armed Nebulon-B2 class frigates. The objective is to seize the freighter's valuable cargo. All the Hammer's pilots are in
their cockpits, and the squadrons are ready to launch when the command is given. Stormtroopers and pilots have boarded their transports, and on the bridge of the Star Destroyer, the Commodore sits in the Command
Chair. One more minute and the attack begins.
Write a fiction that details your role in the battle. You can write it from your character's perspective, but you don't have to, you can pick another character as well (but not someone else in the TC). Fiction
should be at least 750 words and submitted in Word or pdf format no later than March 31st! Fictions will be graded based on grammar and spelling (10% - have someone proofread your submission if possible),
entertainment and creativity (50%), realism (25% - Star Wars realism...) and continuity (15%).
It's been a good week and a not so good week. The good bit is the increase in our numbers with 3 new and old pilots. The bad news is the drop in MP submissions and the not so great participation in the Hammer- wide competition. Come on folks, you can do better!
