SIMS Report # 2 (2023-03-31)

This report was submitted by BGCOM-SIMS/AD Phoenix Berkana/Battlegroup I

Phoenix glared at the holo unit in-front of him, the battle over Assur was turning into a full scale slog between two opposing fleets. The TIE Corps, since the arrival of the Super-Star Destroyer Avenger had turned the tide, but the Ishtari were putting up a stiff fight for every move the Emperor’s Hammer made.

A slight move caught his attention, Plif standing to his right touched a button that caused the map to zoom in.

“They’re going to break the lines” he pointed at where a group of TIE Corps icons were cleaving through a Ishtari group of icon near the centre of a formation.

“It will cost them though,” said Phoenix as he leaned in to get a better look.

A cluster of icons including the Avenger cut through the centre of a fraying Ishtari formation, sending ships wheeling away in their wake.

Phoenix breathed a sigh of relief.

Grand Admiral Rapier strode across the bridge of the Avenger, bracing himself against the cacophony of alarms and reports from officers around him. The fight was over, what survived of the Ishtari fleet had been scattered like leaves on the wind, and their capital world Assur II lay before them.

The aim of Imperial Storm had been to free the worlds of the Assurian Halo and remove the threat of Ishtari, and although they had succeeded they TIE Corps had paid a heavy price with numerous ships back at Tusorix or other newly freed worlds of the cluster being repaired by their grateful citizens.

Rapier glanced down at the situation display, Idu lay green and pacified, home to a grateful population. A majority of the sector still showed red but with the Ishtari fleet scattered would have little problem rebuilding their own forces and fending for themselves.

What are you orders for Assur II?” A young looking Major looked up at the Grand Admiral from one of the crew pits.

“Deploy the stormtroopers, I want all useful supplies from the space docks removed before they are destroyed. Have weapons target the key military sectors on the surface, but leave the civilian areas.”

Rapier turned to a miniature holo behind him.

“Inform the leadership of Tusorix that the Ishtari threat has been neutralized.”

High Admiral Plif saluted and the holo flickered.

The Assurian Halo Campaign was complete.
