February has come to a close and I'm trying not to take it personally that the first Ewok CMDR in EH history was appointed on the shortest month of the year. It feels like a joke inside of a jape inside of a jest but, at the end of the day, I'm too busy basking in my unlimited marginally increased power to notice. The biggest perks of the job appear to be the keys to the Strategic Toothbrush INcarceration Kabinet, so there's that!

It's been a good month to start as CMDR, though. While many of our pilots have slowed down from their 2022 highs, Lambda has continued to do well in the Ace of the TIE Corps competitions. Wolve crushed the SP category, winning first place with 364 SP missions flown and Solohan50 got 8th place with 17 missions. In PvE, Gytheran achieved 3rd place with 205 victories, Wolve got 6th place with 107 victories, Solohan50 got 7th place with 86 victories, and Therj'en'nuruodo eeked out 10th place at the buzzer with 58 victories. In PvP, DemWookieeCheeks proved that Lambda is still a force to be reckoned with with 58 PvP victories and Solohan50 squeezed into 10th place with 38 victores. Gytheran got 11th place which wasn't enough to place, but it was enough for this Ewok to gloat about beating him!

We welcome CPT Mad Max to Lambda as our newest recruit. We don't know much about this new pilot yet, but given that his name contains the word "Mad" and he's a friend of Alexsandyr, it's a good bet that he'll fit right in!

I want to congratulate Gytheran on both his promotion to the rank of Major as well as replacing me as Lambda's SQXO. We also saw Therj'en'nuruodo get promoted to LCM in February. Our pilots are moving on up the ranks!

In other news, Imperial Storm 5 has officially started! I will be asking that all pilots participate as much as possible during the upcoming battles, as every Legion helps us put FA La'an the Ishtari foe in their place! For the pilots who haven't flown in previous Imperial Storms, the premise is this: Genie will be controlling our fleet in a tile-based strategy war game. When our forces come into contact with enemy forces, the entirety of Battlegroup 1 will need to fly as many LoS and LoCs as possible over the next 48 hours. The more we fly, the more damage we do to the Ishtari fleet and the less damage their fleet will do to us. There will also be an SP mission that we will be attempting to get a high score on, which also dictates how much damage we deal and receive. If you have any questions, please reach out to me or to Lambda chat. Remember, this is a cooperative event so make sure to fly with any TC pilots you can!

Creative Corner

LCM Galen Spartan Whydoesthisguyhavesomanynames Therj'en'nuruodo had joined the Tie Corps searching for what every pilot was searching for: adventure, action, paying off a life debt for being unfrozen by the TC...you know, the usual stuff. When he was recruited into Lambda squadrom by a fellow Chiss with a surprisingly sculpted posterior, he thought that's what he'd get. Never in a million years did he expect to find himself in the position he found himself in now.

"Hey, you! There-gem-whatever!" a loud, shrill voice yelled out and snapped the LCM out of his daydreaming. "Force-uppies, NOW!". The newly-minted Ewok CMDR of Lambda Squadron was a demanding person, seemingly drunk on his newfound power as the leader of the TC's premier squadron. The Chiss's shoulders slumped before he straightened up, held out his hand towards the Ewok, and concentrated.

"Hurry up! Must fight enemies now!", the voice cried out, even more shrill than before. "It would be a lot easier if he didn't yell when I'm trying to concentrate", the LCM thought to himself. After a few more seconds, the Ewok slowly started to lift off the ground, rising into the air until he was softly deposited in the cockpit. Without even a word of thanks, the ion engines of the CMDR's TIE Punisher lit up as he raced out of the Hammer hangar, bouncing off of two parked starfighters before entering the blackness of space. Frankly, this was one of his more successful take-off procedures.

"Is this what I've been reduced to? I'm a Force-sensitive Chiss who was frozen for over 3500 years, I'm one of the only people alive who even remembers what the galaxy was like that long ago, dammit!", he thought to himself as he watched his CMDR leave the hangar. "At least now he's gone, that should give me a little bit of time to go do something respectable", he muttered as he turned around to leave the hangar.

As he turned to leave, he was interrupted by a sharp whistle and turned around. "Utinni!", MAJ Gytheran yelled as him as he pointed to himself, then to the cockpit of his bomber. "Force-uppies, NOW!", the Jawa yelled. Therj'en'nuruodo's shoulders slumped further...

• Imperial Storm 5: A month-long fight against our insectoid foes, the Ishtari. Organized by Phoenix.
• Lambda Squadrons - Squadrons with Lambda: A weekly Lambda get-together where we fly Squadrons. It runs from Feb 10, 2023 to May 1, 2023 Organized by Solohan.
• Spot the Error!: Incompetent CMDRs no right reports gud. Organized by Genie, now run by Solohan (now with even more errors!).

Be sure to check out all the running competitions. As Lambdas, to know the competitions you are eligible for, under "Units Involved" it must be listed as "TIE Corps", "Battlegroup I", or "Lambda Squadron".

Closing Comments

It's been a busy first month as Lambda's new CMDR! It's a lot of work but there's nobody I'd rather fly with than this "lovable" bunch of misfits, especially as we go into battle against these Kilrathi critters. Let's show them that the Emperor's Hammer stands firmer than ever!
