IN THE NEWS

The roster is up four since my last report, a small net gain. As always, there’s some back-and-forth going on with assignments as we bring on new pilots, have veterans return, and see pilots depart for the Reserves or disappear into the void.

Star Wars: The Old Republic was re-added as a primary game for the TIE Corps, this time with support for more than just the starfighter mode. A listing of what modes can be submitted is in the COO Manual and a more comprehensive guide of what screenshots need to look like is available on the Discord server.

IN THE WORKS

Imperial Storm is being put together by the SIMS, AD Phoenix Berkana, to be run in March.

TIE Corps in Battle Season Six will launch soon™.

With a round of updates for combat rating merit medals completed recently, the plan is to return to updating those roughly quarterly.

An updated, non-PDF version of the Pilot Manual is coming together in the Wiki.

REMINDERS

Not long ago, we made it so that Iron Stars with Wings contribute points to the Flight Certification Wings (FCW) and boosted the number of points that Distinguished Flying Crosses contribute to FCW and the PvP combat rating. If your FCW echelon or PvP combat rating recently increased unexpectedly, that’s why.

The Operational Readiness Award (ORA) was created to give competitions a way to recognize participants for achievements other than placement. The Iron Star is our competition placement award but had started being used for more, which we reverted by implementing the ORA and converting some of the existing Iron Stars to ORAs. ORAs aren’t awarded for simple, one-time participation, though, so competition runners should be aware that they need to be creating goals for participants to meet beyond just making a submission for the competition if they intend to award ORAs.

The IO says that posting more news items to the database seems like the right way to go. There’s a new opt-out for whether a news item gets reposted to the announcements channel in Discord, so you can choose not to have it reposted or post something in the database one way and reformat it for Discord if needed.

TITLE HOLDERS

The Raise the Flag event each year confers three titles to recognize the top ship, squadron, and individual pilot from the competition. These are the current holders of those titles.
