He finished stowing his personal kit in a pair of small holdalls, packing away the more fragile elements into a single hard sided storage container ready for onward transit. He'd learned to travel light and his uniform, helmet and flight kit always took up the most space. Anything else he needed he could draw from stores and so it made the process of moving on that little bit simpler. La'an's time as Epsilon CMDR was drawing to a close and the next CMDR, whoever was to be appointed, would put their own stamp on these quarters as well as the squadron itself. |

Welcome all to this ninth report from myself as Epsilon CMDR - joining you after what I hope has been a festive period and a little over 6 weeks since my last report to you. I'll keep this one fairly brief as I know it's been a quiet time for all of us and the key news I want to convey is my intention to depart the CMDR role in the coming weeks. In RL my work has stepped up and while a great opportunity for me personally it has come at the cost of my spare time - Epsilon deserves and needs someone who can give you all their full attention and at present that unfortunately isn't me. I'm very proud of the strong performance you all showed in RTF 22 and the epic tussles we had in climbing the leaderboard and helping the Hammer keep head and shoulders above their rivals. We've built a positive and relaxed community that, despite churn in terms of manpower, has endured and continued to grow. I hope this continues under the next CMDR. Admin wise, the last MSE is pending COM and SOO review, with a number of medals to be awarded and a potential single AWOL. It's looking likely that I'll also complete this month's eval before departing, so noting that it's the 19th you all have a little over 12 days to put that activity on the board for Jan 23! Congratulations to LCM Lenan-she for the award of a Commendation of Bravery and my apologies for the delay in it#s recommendation - it's useful for all of you to note that alongside merit medals a number of commendations exist that can be awarded. I've made a Commendation of Loyalty recc for a squadron member as I'm able to do twice a year, so I look forward to seeing that awarded and announced soon! Finally, for any of you interested in making the step up to CMDR please don't hesitate to ask any questions, but make sure you have that SM/5 IU qualification on your record! STANDING EPSILON POLICY:
I am requesting that you reach out to your FLs at least once a week either through email, through Discord DMs or via the squadron channel on the TC server. Squadron level communication has previously been identifed as an issue - I highly recommend you join the Discord by typing ehtc.chat into your web browser. Discord is where 90% of communication within the TC now happens and the majority of day to day conversations involving this squadron. Failure to utilise it will highly limit your ability to enjoy the experience of the TC, or indeed follow what is actually happening - equally you run the risk of being transferred to the RSVs as inactive unless you tell us otherwise. |

Epsilon Squadron stands at 11 (+1/-1) pilots strong - a big welcome to GN Ric Hunter who joins us with an illustrious record behind him, including commanding the elite squadron Praetorian. I know he has an interest in SWTOR so if you do likewise, hit him up and make him feel like part of the squadron! I hope to see Epsilon's number remain high, but where required by the review process be advised that I won't shy away from making clear recommendations on transfers. Likewise, if anyone wishes to depart the squadron please let me know and we can take the required admin action, rather than drifting out of touch over a period of months. An AWOL request for SL Lucius Scar is pending, but even now it's not too late to return. Get in touch! |

CMDR is a position well worth the extra effort and admin, so please give serious thought to whether it's something you would be able to do and the extra value it will give to your time in the TC - apply if it's tempting!
