Following on from the conflict with the Ishtari the Hammer, alongside the rest of her Battlegroup, had withdrawn to resupply and repair, giving way to the ISDII Immortal and her ownn escorts. Granted leave in reflection of their strong perofrmance most of Epsilon had dispersed across the system to find, explore and drain dry the local watering holes, casinos and arcades. La'an himself had cashed in a few weeks and headed off to find some all too rare peace and quiet, having been dropped off on the side of a mountain at a refreshingly long range from any nearby settlements, flight paths or any real trace of the outside world. The days had drifted gently by until his prearranged collection by an Imperial shuttle and now the entire thing felt like a distant and fast receeding memory. Back to work... |

Welcome all to this eighth report from myself as Epsilon CMDR - following your excellent 7th place in RtF 2022 and a strong October in general I'm pleased to note that while we've all rested a little on our laurels there has been a steady stream of activity. As seems to have become the norm with this reporting cycle we've undergone some significant change, losing 2 pilots to MSE instigated AWOLs and RSV moves, MAJ Aldaric and LT ScorchTacoMan, despite our best efforts to get some life from them. In their place we've gained a new FM, SL Lucius Scar who I very much hope to be able to promote soon. In addition, MAJ Witcher has completed his service as SQXO, rotating out to a FM spot - his support in the early days of my time with you was invaluable and I'm grateful to him for it. LCM Nova Discordia was offered and accepted the FL2/SQXO position and has taken to it well, with good support of new pilots and an Epsilon competition approved as of yesterday. On a broader note a restructure of the fleet has seen COMs renamed as BGCOMs to represent that their ISD has responsibility for a full Battle Group (BG) - as such the Hammer and Epsilon are now part of BG I, so if you see that on a comp audience or report, you know it means us! Raise the Flag 22 ended with a Hammer Victory and a Lambda/Gamma 1-2 - while we finished 7th we did so with a lot of clear space above and below, having worked hard to keep our heads above the chasing pack but not wuite closing the gap to 6th. Considering the slow opening 10 days we had I'm very proud of that performance and it was reflected in the promotions and medals awarded - Silver Stars for myself and GN Coranel Both, Bronze Stars for LT leofric and LCM Nova Dioscordia, a PC for Lenan-She Chaabar and promotion to LCM, and an ISM for MAJ Witcher. A shuttle load of ORAs and IS's followed - with another shuttle load of backlogged MoCs having now landed in the last few days to bring all monthly evaluations bang up to date. Post-RtF is always in danger of feeling like a slump, but good comms and a steady amount of activity have been a positive sign - lets try and make December a stronger month and earn that festive break! |

STANDING EPSILON POLICY:
I have no intention of overturning or unduly modifying the previous CMDR's standing orders, therefore for now they are to be considered extant - they will be reviewed in detail soon but will likely not change wholesale. |

Epsilon Squadron stands at 10 (-2/+1) pilots strong - I hope to see this number remain high, but where required by the review process be advised that I won't shy away from making clear recommendations on transfers. Likewise, if anyone wishes to depart the squadron please let me know and we can take the required admin action, rather than drifting out of touch over a period of months. MAJ Aldaric and LT ScorchTacoMan dropped off the radar and after several months of effort couldn't be brought back into the fold - there's another one or two I have concerns for, but the benefit of the doubt will always be given.
