Pilots of the Hammer,

It's been a long time coming, but after a long long month we can finally say we've captured the Raise the Flag title for 2022 - we will serve as the TIE Corps Flagship until RtF 2023.

First and foremost, let me congratulate our rivals for a fantastic competition, both the Warrior and Challenge were great competitors and I look forward to the next competition! Let me also thank HA Plif and AD Clark who put a heck of a lot of time into running the competition - given I run one of the other big competitions on the calendar believe me when I say there is a lot of work that goes on behind the curtain to run one of these, so please join me in thanking them for giving up their time to make it happen.

So with that, a hearty congratulations to everyone who took part, we had a fantastic 77% participation level from pilots aboard the Hammer with several squadrons only one or two pilots away from a full house of participants, which is a fantastic achievement for us to look back on and a testament to your own willingness to compete and win!

We had some phenomenal squadron efforts from the Hammer as well, with Lambda Squadron being runaway winners and claiming first place with a staggering 38,267 points! Gamma Squadron claimed second place with 17,366 points ahead of my old command Thunder Squadron from the Challenge in third as Avenger don't count for placement being an oddball collection of Admirals.

You can view the final squadron standings here but suffice to say it was a good effort from all the squadrons aboard the Hammer!

On an individual basis it was a Lambda Squadron One-Two with General Genie and Captain Gytheran claiming first and second place respectively ahead of LC Hogan from the Warrior in third. Rounding out the top five this year were CPT TheBlackxRanger and GN Elwood the Brave in fourth and fifth respectively, leaving the Hammer with a hefty grip on the top of the scoreboard.

In other news, quite a term as there has been a fair bit going on and I am always looking forward to catching up on Discord whenever possible.

The latest big news aboard the Hammer though, I am pleased to announce that over this last weekend Colonel Genie was promoted to General. He has been a stalwart member of the ships command group and has led Lambda Squadron with aplomb and I really appreciate all of his input, so thank you General Genie! It's also a good moment to remind everyone about TIE Corps in Battle, the Single Player competition that we are all able to compete in. The Hammer has a lead from Round One, and Round Two closes on the 15th, so in little over a week's time. Details can be found here.

Finally with the TIE Corps renaming the Commodores as Battlegroup Commanders, we now have the opportunity to get a nickname and motto for Battlegroup One, home to the ISD-Hammer and Wing I. I have a competition for that running here

Battlegroup Hammer needs you Hammer-folk!
We need a new motto and nickname for this assembly of ships.

TIE Corps in Battle Season Five
One battle each from TIE, XvT, and XWA will be assigned monthly. Pilots will fly the battles and submit their pilot files through the database normally. The TCCOM receives a copy of all BSFs, so neither pilot files nor BSFs need to be forwarded to the TCCOM unless the submission gets queued in the database. In the case of a queued submission, send the pilot file to the TCCOM.
Rounds in Season Five will run for one month each starting from mid-month to put TCiB on a slightly different schedule from most competitions. For example, the first round is starting on the 16th of August and will end at 2359 on the 16th of September.
The pilot with the highest score each month in each platform will earn 9 points. The next highest score will earn 8, then 7, and so on. All submissions will earn at least 2 points. Any mission high scores will earn 1 bonus point and any battle high scores will earn 2 bonus points. High scores are evaluated in the order the pilot files were submitted, but both pilots will receive the bonus points if a processed high score is overtaken later by another pilot. Points will accumulate for the season for more awards and the overall top pilot will also receive the title TIE Corps Battlemaster.
The points earned by each pilot will also be added to their squadron's total and their ship's total. At the end of the season, the participants from top three squadrons and the top ship earn awards.
