Epsilon PatchFROM THE HANGAREpsilon Patch

The hubbub from the simulation suites and training areas barely settled throughout the night, with squadron after squadron rotating through to undertake the mandated assessments and tests that formed the trailing edge of the Hammer's readiness checks from the Strategic Operations Office. Packed into an already tight schedule it was starting tow ear a little thin, but thankfully Epsilon had concluded their runs and were back to normal duties.

The assessment had highlighted the need for an injection of new personnel following recent losses, with the squadron dipping to as low as 8 and seriously udnerstrength. Thankfully the newest rotation has brought with it pilots for Epsilon, new and old - a reserve Colonel newly reactivated and a reserve Lieutenant returning to the fold. On top of all that the squadron was finally starting to build momentum and deliver on some of the promises La'an had made to his superiors all those months ago.

Epsilon PatchSQUADRON NEWSEpsilon Patch

Welcome all to this seventh report from myself as Epsilon CMDR -we're mid-RtF 2022 and as such we've been in near constant communication for the last 3 weeks, making the function of this report a little wasted! That being said, in the five weeks or so since my last filed report we've undergone significant change, losing 3 pilots to MSE instigated AWOLs and RSV moves, despite our best efforts to get some life from them. In their place we've gained COL BubbaX and LT Leofric - both coming back to us from very, very long stints in the RSVs. So be reassured it's never guaranteed to be a one way journey! COL BubbaX may be remembered by some of you as a former TC BGCOM and was certainly one of the key players in the TC when I joined as a SL, so it's great to see him back.

Raise the Flag 22 has just over 6 days to run and I'm very pleased to see us pass the 3500 point mark, trailing Theta but not out of reach, while leaving some space behind us to the purusing squadrons. Don't forget that bonus fictions and graphics have yet to be scored and their placement points awarded, so if we managed to contribute any quality we will see our own scores jump markedly in the next week. That may also mean that other squadrons do likewise, so keep flying and earning those points. The Hammer is in a strong position, with Lambda under COL Genie being the big difference between the Hammer and Warrior, but don't take that for granted and let's prove our potential. A number of IARs reflect the bursts of activity from key pilots, but I'm more pleased to see 8 of 11 pilots with a number bigger than 0 against their name. It doesn't matter if it's a 1 or a 1000, but from the final 3 I really want to see us hit 100% participation and be proud of doing so.

I'll end it there and keep it short - a big report will follow RtF and break down our performance, as well as hopefully any October MSE awards (of which there will be many!). Back to your fighters!
Epsilon PatchSTANDING ORDERSEpsilon Patch
STANDING EPSILON POLICY:

I have no intention of overturning or unduly modifying the previous CMDR's standing orders, therefore for now they are to be considered extant - they will be reviewed in detail soon but will likely not change wholesale.

I am requesting that you reach out to your FLs at least once a week either through email, through Discord DMs or via the squadron channel on the TC server. Squadron level communication has previously been identifed as an issue - I highly recommend you join the Discord by typing ehtc.chat into your web browser. Discord is where 90% of communication within the TC now happens and the majority of day to day conversations involving this squadron. Failure to utilise it will highly limit your ability to enjoy the experience of the TC, or indeed follow what is actually happening - equally you run the risk of being transferred to the RSVs as inactive unless you tell us otherwise.

The people you need to reach out to at least once per week are as follows:

Flight 1 - GN La'an (CMDR)
Flight 2 - MAJ Witcher (FL/SQXO)
Flight 3 - LCM Isagar Sho'oter(FL)

Epsilon PatchROSTEREpsilon Patch
Epsilon Squadron stands at 1 (-3/+2) pilots strong - I hope to see this number remain high, but where required by the review process be advised that I won't shy away from making clear recommendations on transfers. Likewise, if anyone wishes to depart the squadron please let me know and we can take the required admin action, rather than drifting out of touch over a period of months.

SL Tidus Frelander, SL Elliot and LT Gunny Sinclair all dropped off the radar and after 3 months of effort couldn't be brought back into the fold - there's another one or two I have concerns for, but the benefit of the doubt will always be given. Get in touch!
