TAC Report # 17 (2022-05-10)

This report was submitted by TAC/FA Pickled Yoda/CS-5/VSDII Sinister

In which we discuss things which have progressed, and things which have not.

The Queue Moves

They said it would never happen... the TAC submission queue has had some movement! And there was much rejoicing.

I am pleased to announce that XvT TC 147 has been released. It's Jeequai Encounter by Dempsey. If the name sounds familiar, that's because there was a TIE battle of the same name - TIE TC 246. The numbers being so close to perfect alignment does vex me some. Such is life.

This also moves Dempsey past the 300 mark on the Mission Design Statistics page. That's quite remarkable.

Please fly it and take my high scores away.

(The queue would move faster if there were more testers)

I do have something in the works to improve this, but in the meantime if you'd like to help out the TAC Office with some testing then please get in touch.

TFTC-R

The R stands for Rextended.

A few people have suggested that Imperial Storm IV may have kept pilots too busy for other things. As such, I have extended the deadline to June 30 for my TFTC-R competition.

In short, you can be rewarded for flying well, flying fast, writing about flying and/or making pretty pictures about flying.

I am super keen to get submissions as you go so that I can inspect the progression of your pilot files and gain a fuller understanding of the format. To date I have not received any partially complete pilot files.

Here's one of the prettiest screenshots I've taken so far in the game.

Please reach out if you have any questions about the comp, TFTC itself or even just to let me know you are intending to participate.

Personally, I'd never looked at XWAU or any other mod before trying out TFTC. Compared to XWA vanilla it's quite astonishing. There are new ships to check out, fantastic backdrops and some well crafted reimaginings of the TIE campaign that inspired the very beginnings of this club.

I really, really think it's worth your time to give it a go. I've finished from training through to battle 4 and I'm looking forward to my imminent betrayal.
