("Well, that is certainly uncalled for!" complains the RA-7 droid GR-MS, also known as Grimace. "I am not quite sure why an astromech needs to be involved in the onboarding of a new Squadron Commander to begin with." Sitting in the chair behind the squadron commander's desk, Commander Westric "Dav" Davalorn watches the exchange between the two droids with growing frustration. Dav suddenly stands up and interrupts, "Here's an idea! Nix, can you take Grimace over to the hangar so that he can confirm that Rho Squadron is adequately supplied for the remainder of IS4?" Both droids turn to look at the commander and then back at each other. "It would help speed things along for getting General Frown's sign-off on our readiness," Dav continues, trying not to sound too hopeful. "I suppose that would be an appropriate course of action," Grimace confirms. Nix sounds less than enthusiastic, but begrudgingly leads the way to the office door and rolls out into the hallway with Grimace following close behind. The door shuts behind them, and Dav lets out a deep sigh of relief at the temporary peace and quiet. He sits back down and turns to the data terminal to begin composing his report.)
Much has happened in the approximately two weeks since I stepped up into the Squadron Commander position. Alexandre “ossusplayz” Morgan and Vapen Vanman have been appointed Flight Leaders of Flights 2 and 3, respectively. Both pilots were also recently promoted to the rank of Commander. Last but not least, Commander Vanman was also appointed as Rho Squadron Executive Officer. Good luck to both of you in your new roles! Lieutenants Fern Domgra and TheGildedDeity have been transferred to Vulture Squadron while they await reassignment. We wish them luck in their future endeavors. These vacancies were quickly filled with our newest recruits: Sub-Lieutenants Ayre, Declan Blackwing, and Krownest have been assigned to Rho 2, Rho 8, and Rho 12, respectively. Please assist me with welcoming them aboard and getting them acclimated to Rho Squadron. The Emperor's Hammer fleet is in the middle of the fourth iteration of our annual wargame, Imperial Storm. In less than 12 hours, the forces of the Warrior will engage the forces of the Hammer over Moddell Secundus. We need every available pilot getting as much time in the cockpit as possible. Begin warming up in your preferred simulators. The Warrior has been selected to be the test ship for a new strategy in squadron organization. Instead of activating a fifth squadron, each of the four active squadrons will be expanded to four flights, for a total of 16 pilots per squadron. As part of the ongoing updates to the Rho Squadron roster profile, we will be accepting suggestions for a new Squadron Nickname and Squadron Motto. All suggestions are welcome! Have fun with it! Get creative! The submission form will be open for two weeks. All entries will be anonymous to the rest of the squadron. Once the submissions have been received, a poll will be held to determine the winning entries. Rho Squadron pilots will receive an Iron Star Bronze Ribbon for each winning entry. Link: Submission Form Imperial Storm is a turn based war-game that pits all three battlegroups against the others over a map of the planetary systems that we are currently near. The teams will do battle against each other for control of the map, earning points for holding systems and attempting to deprive the enemy of their own. Battles are fought using a scoring system that takes into account how many Legions (LoC/LoS) are earned during the combat window, alongside the average scores of a teams top 4 SP pilot playing a selected FREE mission. In addition we also have a TC vs. TC PvP round. The full list of current competitions can be found here in the Competitions Center. |

I've had a great initiation as Squadron Commander, and look forward to working with all of you during Imperial Storm 4 and to help navigate Rho Squadron through all of the coming updates. |
