RECAP

The roster is down 6 since last time, more AWOLs and Reserves transfers than incoming pilots lately. I like to think that we're being more honest by placing pilots in the Reserves rather than keeping them in an active duty squadron in case things change. It's really not difficult to come back from the Reserves or an AWOL declaration, but there's a conversation to be had and I think that's helpful.

The big news is something a lot of you have probably noticed already when you've gone to the site, there's been a complete recode of the database! With the new foundation now fully in place and operational, we're making some tweaks and getting everything situated. We'll be discussion potential new features more ernestly than we could before, though of course we'll give the Internet Office some time to recover before making any grand proposals.

There's been some discussion about where our Corps-wide events will land on the calendar this year so that they can be planned around. Here's what we've got:

  • The Chalquilla Cup is in progress and scheduled to end in March
  • Imperial Storm returns in April
  • Squadron (Re)Mobilization will run again in June and possibly also July, I've got some tweaks to make and it might not remain a two-month event
  • Raise the Flag is set for September
  • Lord of the TIEs is a much smaller-scale event than the above but I wanted to mention that it'll start in October and run until Life Day on November 17th, not sure how early in October yet

TIE Corps in Battle and other competitions running in a season-based style will continue to run as planned, though there might be more or less time between seasons to avoid bigger events where possible. Avoiding an overlap with Raise the Flag in particular is common.

TITLE HOLDERS

The Raise the Flag event each year confers three titles to recognize the top ship, squadron, and individual pilot from the competition. These are the current holders of those titles.

TCCOM'S COMPETITIONS

TIE Corps in Battle Season Four is assigning three SP battles each month and awarding both pilots and units.

EABF2 PC PvE Casual Friday is an ongoing Combat Event.

SP Ace of the TIE Corps is awarding the top six pilots on the SP Kill Board each month.

MP Ace of the TIE Corps is awarding the top six pilots on the Multiplayer Kill Board each month.

COOP Ace of the TIE Corps is awarding the top six pilots on the Multiplayer Coop Kill Board each month.

TCCOM'S AGENDA

DONE:

  • CMDR+ meetings on 1/29 and 2/12
  • Caught up on Tour of Duty medals
  • TCiB results for round one and assignments for round two
  • Numerous, some highly pedantic, bug reports and change requests for the new database
  • Polled in Discord for a new EABF2 PC PvE night, came up with Friday and launched that as a new Combat Event

IN PROGRESS:

  • The Commodore Volume 7

ONGOING:

  • Performing onboarding tasks before assigning cadets to squadrons
  • Processing uniform updates
  • Processing medal and promotion recommendations
  • Processing transfers and other profile updates in the database
  • Adding items to the news feed in the database and the #polls-and-announcements channel in Discord
  • Updating the TIE Corps Pilot Manual
  • Learning to be a responsible database code collaborator from the IO, FA Turtle Jerrar (thanks!)
  • Holding CMDR+ meetings every two weeks
  • Uploading new Discord emojis and stickers, sometimes with some editing involved
  • Moving pilots from the Reserves to AWOL status when messages from the Captain of the Phoenix, MAJ Sparky, result in a bounce

PENDING:

  • Next CMDR+ Meeting is on February 26th
  • Building the TCPM in the Wiki
  • Competition resource - what we've done before to serve as a pool of ideas for what we can do next
  • Taking TM/3 (someday)
