We welcomed a new member this week, SL (now LT) TheDutchman, who joins us from IWATS! Welcome to the squad! A number of medals were also awarded to
Theta members. The first round was
from July MSE’s. Congratulations to GN
Jarek La’an for his ISM, GN Mark Schueler and CPT
SL8c8 for their PC’s, and GN Pickled Yoda for his BS. Our veterans were also awarded medals for FCHG ranks long
ago achieved, and CPT SL8c8 received an Bronze Star for his reaching the rank
of Aquilifer in the FCHG.
Congratulations to all! This week is the final week before we begin our biggest
competition of the year, Raise the Flag.
Last year, The Warrior and Theta were both
dethroned from our long history of winning this completion. This year, it will take some effort, but we
must restore our honor and place in history! The rules, as always, get
tweaked year, and so our strategy must adapt.
We will discuss in the future, but the rules aren’t
fully set, yet. Keep your ears to your
radios! Currently, the Emperor’s Wrath double knockout tournament is
underway, generously hosted by LT EvilGrin. At this point, I’m
the only Thetan in it, but it will be interesting
to watch anyway… Finally, we have the rest of this week to the end of the month
to fly for Project Domination (The score is wrong B****). Fly TIE-TC-128 for a target
score of 44,400 (without going over) to earn Theta a citation and for your
personal glory. |

Project Domination (The score is wrong B****) As you may know Theta dominates the squadron battle boards with 144
squadron citations. That is no reason to rest on our laurels, though. This
project is to increase the number of citations we have as well as dominate
and embarrass the rest of the squadrons with our greatness. It also includes
a fun, new (as far as I know) type of competition for some entertainment. I will assign one
or more battles (up to one per platform) each month (or more often if we
really start knocking them out). Each pilot is to fly that battle. I will
also assign a target score for the battle. The pilot that scores the closest
to that score without going over will win an IS-BW for that platform for the
month and 3 points. The second closest gets 2 points,
and all others that complete it get 1 point. All pilots that fly in a
platform where we earn the citation get 1 bonus point. The first pilot to
complete the mission get 1 bonus point as well. (The first submittal and
closest score don’t need to be the same submission,
even if from the same pilot). Iron stars will be given
for point totals (however earned). The top points
earner each month will earn an IS-SW. Also, the first person
to identify the movie reference of this competition gets 2 points. All others
to identify the reference will earn 1 point. Please private email me the
answer for the movie reference. Summary: Earning points: • Closest to the
target score without going over – 3 points • 2nd closest
without going over – 2 point • All other
completing an assigned battle – 1 point per battle • Squadron earns
citation from battle – 1 point bonus for each pilot that flew that battle • Identify the
movie reference first – 2 points • Identify the
movie reference other than first – 1 point Awards: • Closest to the
target score without going over (by platform) – IS-BW • Top points for
the month – IS-SW • Every 10 total
points – IS-BW • Every 20 total
