RHO WEEKLY SQUADRON REPORT #11 |
REPORTING OFFICER: Colonel Hav Antiel, Squadron Commander |
SQUADRON COMMANDER'S CORNER |
Welcome to this week's report, pilots. The big news this week is that the TIE Corps is reactivating a Star Destroyer. This is truly exciting! I have only ever known the TIE Corps as a two-ship operation (I joined a few months after the Warrior was activated in 2014). The Challenge has been selected for reactivation with HA Anahorn Dempsey as her Commodore. I served under Demps when she was COM of the Hammer, and I'm certain that she will lead the Challenge with honor. New ships, new squadrons, new Star Wars flight sim... sometimes this feels like a dream come true. I'm excited to see how Raise the Flag shapes up with three Wings and three Star Destroyers fighting for flagship honors. There will be one new squadron activated aboard the Challenge, and one squadron each from the Hammer and the Warrior will move to join it. As reported elsewhere, these squadrons will take the names of the existing Wing X squadrons: Cyclone, Inferno, Tempest, Thunder, Tornado, and Typhoon. Forecast is looking stormy on the Chal! If you're interested in learning more about the currently inactive ships and squadrons of the Emperor's Hammer, check out the Fleet Order of Battle. |

CLOSING COMMENTS |
Story time, pilots. In 2014, I had just joined the TIE Corps, and I was flying through the TIE-TC missions with a big smile on my face. Then my laptop was stolen, and my flight activity dropped to nil. I eventually got a new laptop, but I didn't have the scratch for the X-Wing series games. That's when my CMDR at the time, Miles Prower, gifted me TIE Fighter (and a bunch of other games) on Steam. It was such a kind gesture, and it gave me the boost to get back in the cockpit. Today, my Rho pilots did something similar for one of their own, and it makes me proud to be their commander. Thank you LT Frenchie6 and LT acetiepilot for making it happen. It's all about supporting each other and getting time to fly together, and your kindness helped make that happen. I would also like to thank my Flight Leaders for their flight reports this week. Those reports save me a lot of time on the activity section and help FLs see what their pilots are up to. Pilots, if there is any activity missing under your name in the activity section, communicate with your CMDR and Flight Leader to make sure we're aware. Activity is great, but I can only reward it if I know about it. Get out there and show 'em who the (not so) bad guys are. COL Hav Antiel |
