COMMANDER’S QUARTERS

Alarms were blaring throughout the Challenge, it was time once again to sally forth in combat against the First Order. Jagged kissed his framed photo of his wife, sent her one last email, reminding her he would be deployed for the next month and would be out of contact, and picked up his flight helmet as he walked to his door. He ran his fingers though the blades of the potted grass by his door as he walked passed, knowing it would be many days until he got the chance again to touch grass.

SQUADRON NEWS

Well, it is that time once again, Raise the Flag is upon us. I will go more into it down at the Fleet news section but I will say I sincerely hope we can all pull together and make a strong showing this month. I genuinely believe that BG3 is the odds on favorite for coming out on top and who knows for the top squadron with all the shuffles this last year in personnel. But I do know that the fight to be top BG3 squadron will be fierce this year.

On to news/recap from this last month. We were joined at the beginning of the month by a new pilot to the TC, Qask Merrow. He has already secured his promotion to Lieutenant and is on his way to a LCM promotion, which ALL here agree is a worthy goal. I for one am excited to read what he puts together for the fiction comps this month after reading his INPR (no pressure though).

We also have four Order of the Vanguard awards to celebrate this month. At the beginning of the month, Major Anthony Starr reached an impressive 26 years with the Emperor's Hammer! Towards the beginning of the month our own Captain Kieran Yoyo celebrated his 3rd anniversary with the Emperor's Hammer. Next came Commander Reece Torenn who celebrated his first full year in our august organization. And finally, just a day or two ago I reached my three year mark as well. Congratulations to all!

For promotions this month, we had Qask Merrow's promotion to Lieutenant back a few weeks ago, congratulations again on so quickly getting that first step on your journey with us. And then my surprise promotion to General right here at the end of the month.

FLEET NEWS

Well, Raise the Flag is here. Time to get to work!

COMPETITIONS

The biggest competition of the year is here. Raise the Flag encompasses almost every aspect of possible TIE Corps activity. All single player, even that of missions you have already flown this year, and multi player activity will count towards your individual standings in the competition. Your points will also elevate our squadron's standing and that of Battlegroup III. Additionally, there are two separate art and two separate fiction competitions this month to go along with RtF. I REALLY want to see 100% participation in these competitions this year if possible. They are the single largest source of RtF points possible, and you get 200 points (equivalent of flying 100 TIE Fighter missions) just for participating in each competition. There is also a meme competition where you can submit up to 20 memes to the TCCOM for some easy Rtf points as well. And all Imperial University courses also count towards RtF too. In short get out there and do stuff, but remember we are here to have fun, don't make yourself doing something you don't enjoy just to get points.

A couple of things to note about this year versus previous years, there is NO bonus this year for SP mission scores or High Scores, you get the same number of points whether you get a High Score or fly with full cheats. And the point values for a few of the MP games have changed. But on the subject of High Scores I do have a secondary competition running this month for BG3 to see who can set the most High Scores this month.

And now for the current competitions available to you all as members of Typhoon Squadron. Remember this is just as of today and you should always check the Competition Center for any new competitions too.

Single Player

• SP Ace of the TIE Corps 2026 - Season Three
  • End Date – 2026/12/31
  • Synopsis – Simple, fly Single Player missions from the Database and submit a BSF with the pilot file to the website. Different games have a different point value to them but fly the platforms you like. Missions can only be flown once per year for credit.
• Raise the Flag 2026
  • End Date – 2026/09/30
  • Synopsis – Simple, fly Single Player missions from the Database and submit a BSF with the pilot file to the website. Different games have a different point value to them but fly the platforms you like. You may refly missions that you have already flown this year and still get credit. There are no HS bonuses this year.
• Race to the Top
  • End Date – 2026/09/30
  • Synopsis – Since there is no HS bonus this year in RtF, I have added a secondary comp for all who still want to compete on who can get the most HS this month. It is only open to BG3 pilots so don't worry about the Baron and former Baron running away with the competition.

Multi-Player

• PvE Ace of the TIE Corps 2026 - Season Three
  • End Date – 2026/12/31
  • Synopsis – Simple, play any approved primary TIE Corps PvE game and submit the winning screenshots to the website. Different games have a different point value to them but fly the platforms you like.
• PvP Ace of the TIE Corps 2026 - Season Three
  • End Date – 2026/12/31
  • Synopsis – Simple, play any approved primary TIE Corps PvP game and submit the winning screenshots to the website. Different games have a different point value to them but fly the platforms you like.
• Raise the Flag 2026
  • End Date – 2026/09/30
  • Synopsis – Simple, play any approved primary TIE Corps PvE or PvP game and submit the winning screenshots to the website. Different games have a different point value to them but fly the platforms you like.
• Spear's Monthly Game Night
  • End Date – 2027/03/31
  • Synopsis – Spear is hosting a monthly night to help ensure any who want to play Multiplayer games (because I know how POPULAR those are with you all) can join in.

Art

  • End Date – 2026/09/14
  • Synopsis – Make an image/video based off the prompt linked on the comp page. AI is permitted, but must be sufficiently altered by you. You must also provide progress shots. For placement in the top 10, skill, execution, and prompt compliance are evaluated but to get the 200 point flat bonus NO skill or compliance particularly needed. Heck, it could be argued that crayon drawings are the standard here.

  • Synopsis – Technically not open at the time of this report but wanted it here for completeness. Make an image/video based off the prompt linked on the comp page. Other

• Rho's Monthly Watch Party 2026
  • End Date – 2026/12/31
  • Synopsis – For each of the 12 months in 2026, a pilot in Rho who was chosen at random, picks a movie or tv show that is rated PG-13 or less and appears on a streaming service. Maston Dane will make a voting document with times listed for that month and everyone marks each day and time that also works for them. After a few days of voting the day with the most people available is chosen and come the day we all meet up on discord coms and each of us on our own screens start at the same time. IAR for every 2 months of joining in on the watch party for at least a minimum amount of time.
• Raise the Flag 2026 Memes
  • End Date – 2026/09/30
  • Synopsis – Make up to 20 memes and send to Plif. Points are determined by the rubric posted in the competition page.

HOW TO ADVANCE

I won't repeat all of what I said in the first report here (go see the First Report for the detailed MSE breakdown) but will remind you all that for a month to count towards a promotion a Merit Medal (medal awarded from MSE points) must be earned. Also, want to highlight that to advance beyond Lieutenant you must pass the TIE Corps Core exam.

STANDING ORDERS

As always, the requirements of Active Duty in the TIE Corps are communicating at least once per month, whether that is talking in a Discord channel or sending me a Direct Message on Discord or an email. And then it is important to post some MSE activity at least once every other month, but preferably every month.
