REPORTING COMMANDER: CMDR Nova Discordia |
|
The hangar bay of the ISD Hammer hissed as the Missile Boat Revenge settled onto its landing clamps. The canopy swung open, and Captain Nova Discordia pulled off her helmet. Pale-skinned with sharp grey-green eyes and a spill of messy black hair, she scaled down the ladder, casually uncapping a flask of cheap Corellian whiskey. Her boots hit the deck just as Commander Rurinix stepped forward through the smoke. Neither spoke at first, letting the chaos of the returning squadron fill the silence. Discordia snapped a lazy, half-mocking salute to her SQXO, her eyes glinting with a street-urchin's defiance. Rurinix slowly returned it, a rare, relieved smirk breaking through his usual stern demeanor. "I told you I'd see you back at base, Commander," Discordia said, taking a long swig and wiping her mouth with the back of her glove. "You're late, Captain," Rurinix replied dryly, though his tension visibly melted away. "Debrief is in ten minutes. Don't keep the Admiral waiting. And hide that flask before an officer sees you." "The Admiral can wait," Nova muttered, pocketing the drink and looking entirely indifferent to Imperial protocol. He fell into step beside her as they walked toward the lift. "While you were out hunting X-wings, our replacements arrived. We have a new recruit assigned to the squadron: Lieutenant Rupie, taking the Epsilon 1-2 slot." Discordia raised an eyebrow. "Fresh from the Academy? Can he handle a Missile Boat, or is he going to crash into our shield grid?" "Top of his class in atmospheric flight, but green in a real dogfight," Rurinix warned, his voice dropping as they reached the turbolift. "He's a Human kid from Commenor, born in 15 ABY. His family runs a reputable shipping business, and he worked as a data specialist tracking freighter cargo manifests." Discordia stepped into the lift. "A cargo counter turned pilot. Is he ideological, or just running away from home?" "Both," Rurinix replied as the lift doors began to slide shut. "He rejected his family's New Republic leanings, calling them a corrupt, backward regime. He's purely focused on returning the Empire to restore law and order. He's eager—too eager to prove himself. I want you to keep a close eye on him during the next sortie." Nova smirked, leaning her shoulder against the lift wall. "A true believer. At least he's got his head screwed on right about the Republic. If he's got the spine to back up that ideology, I'll make sure he survives long enough to see his new Empire. Don't worry, Commander, I'll keep the kid alive and show him how we actually do things out here. Besides, we need more pilots with actual brains—unlike the Admiral, who is probably still sweating over a typo on a standard supply manifest." She locked eyes with him, offering a slow, piercing gaze. It was a dangerous, magnetic look that mixed raw charm with absolute defiance. Her lawless intensity was entirely intoxicating, commanding the small space with effortless, lethal allure. Rurinix caught his breath just as the elevator doors clicked shut.

Welcome pilots and I hope this finds you all well. First order of business though is to formally welcome our newest pilot, Lieutenant Rupie who joined us on the 6th July 2026 - Welcome Pilot!. June 2026 saw the squadron busy taking part in ReMob, and as usual our squadron made an excellent showing. Thank you to all pilots who took part! Sadly, we have had several pilots move to the reserves in June 2026 - MAJ Erryc Lasitter and SL Nicolas Coman, and I am sure you will join me in wishes these pilots well, and I hope we see their return to the squadron soon. You may of hopefully seen that your outstanding Medals of Communication have been issued, and should all be up to date by the end of June – but remember you need to be active on comms (Discord and/or Email) to get this medal each month. Our monthly reports which 'go up the line' are now all done as well, so expect a selection of merit medals to start appearing as well :) Flight III currently has an available slot for a FLIGHT LEADER which has been advertised on our channel and the wider TC - if you are interested, please contact myself or CMDR Rurinix by the 31st July 2026. And finally, I am currently planning a new trivia competition for Epsilon, so watch this space. Fly Safe, Pilots!

STANDING EPSILON POLICY:
The expectation from the EH and myself is that that each pilot in Epsilon reach out to your command team ideally at least once a month either through email, or through Discord DMs. At the very least there should be communication with either/or myself, our SQXO or your Flight Leader, every month. Failure to communicate will highly limit your ability to enjoy the experience of the TC, or indeed follow what is actually happening - equally you run the risk of being transferred to the RSVs as inactive unless you tell us otherwise. |
|
Epsilon Squadron currently stands at 9 pilots strong -I hope to see Epsilon's pilot count nearer the full 12, but where required by the review process be advised that I won't shy away from making clear recommendations on transfers. Likewise, if anyone wishes to depart the squadron please let me know and we can take the required admin action, rather than drifting out of touch over a period of months. I would ask that all of you look at recruiting, as we still have an empty pilot seat, I like to see filled as soon as possible. |
