ISDII WarriorSin SquadronThe Chronicles of Sin #4 From: Col Honsou From The Desk of HonsouThe undeniable *thump* of Hyperspace exit rocked the ship, far more than it should have. Stabilisers clearly failing the crew struggled to correct the heading. More klaxons sounded as fires thought extinguished flared once more. A readout on the centre console signalled multiple hull breaches, currently quarantined by sealing the nearest blast doors and bulkheads. Only 50% of the ships GX-7 Quad laser cannons remained functional. One of the SFS G7-X gravity well projectors was cracked, rendering it useless, and though her shields had recharged, they were not exceeding 30%. Pointing to several generator burnouts, some likely beyond repair. The Xanthe, a "418 Immobiliser" Class Heavy Cruiser, Modified Interdictor, and unofficially third command ship of Battlegroup two, had arrived in the Gasriese System, so-called *sanctuary*… Little more than a fuel depot and a final redoubt. A full-scale attack from the First Order forces now would see the Emperor's Hammer Strike Force routed. The sentiment from all on the bridge was that this stop should be just long enough to enact emergency repairs on vessels that couldn't make the journey home to the Minos Cluster. "Captain, hail the Warrior and Relentless. I need to know they made it out." Honsou called across from the damage control console. He had been shadowing the engineer on station since the eleven surviving Sin members had made it back to the Xanthe. Besh squadron had been entirely wiped out and two Sinions, Bob and Kevin were badly wounded. They were down a TIE Sinister and twelve regular TIE's, but had gained a First Order TIE Echelon, thanks to some quick thinking and expert piloting by Honsou's SQXO Hector. Newt appeared next to Honsou, their eyes bloodshot and features drawn out from exhaustion. "Sir, if we're just going back to places we've already been, can we stop at Tusorix? I think I left my toothbrush behind..." The question was dripping with sarcasm. Honsou gave a knowing side-eye and slight smile. "Honestly, Newt I couldn't tell you. We follow orders, that's it." "Colonel Honsou!" the Xanthe's Captain called out. "We have confirmation that the Warrior and Relentless made it! They're battered, like us, but here!" The relief in his tone crystal clear. "Very good Captain, set a course to rendezvous at the fuel depot." Honsou breathed. Honsou and Newt stared in equal measure of awe and shock, looking from the bridge of the Xanthe, as they approached the fuel depot and fleet rendezvous point. So much of the fleet was either still missing or had suffered catastrophic damage. Almost every ship had visible fires, hull breaches and more. Looming large in orbit of the gas giant Zephyron, the SSD Avenger looked like a huge bird of prey waiting for whatever threats might enter the area... "Well, that's some comfort, I guess." Newt chirped, gesturing to the SSD. Honsou nodded his agreement. Greetings Sinners! Well, it has again been a while since my last report. I apologise for this, my real life situation has been in flux for some time, but is now settled. Once again, I am so very proud of you all. I couldn't possibly list everything, but we have had very strong showings across all major competitions over the last year and continue to have fun doing so! Our 2nd place finish in RtF last year and our joint highest participation across the entire TC in IS8 have been particular highlights. As always, I would like to welcome those that have joined us and say a very fond farewell to those that have moved on. We have some more moving and shaking to come, so watch this space.
