COMMANDER’S QUARTERS

The light panels in Jagged's quarters flickered due to the power fluctuations caused by the battle damage to the Challenge's reactors in that last, desperate battle to escape the First Order's trap in the Eisvahn System. The Challenge had made it back to the Gasriese System, but not all of her pilot's had been so lucky. Fortunately, none had fallen in Typhoon Squadron, but it would be a long time until there would be any laughter in the Wing X ready room.

His pilots had acquitted themselves well, among the very best in the Fleet and he was proud of them, but now it was time to rest, reflect, repair and rebuild. For the Emperor was some how reborn and the whole Galaxy was being upended.

SQUADRON NEWS

Well done, all of you for how you all did during Imperial Storm 8. We are now back where we were last year, but severely injured and with the reveal of the Reborn Emperor who knows what is coming next. Please try to contribute to the survey the Warfare Office will be sending out about IS8, we need to know what worked well in your opinion and what needs improvement. Trust me, I have not been silent in my conversations with the WO and XO.

We did better in Round 3 of TCiB but it is unlikely that we can reach 2nd place squadron at this time, but our hold on 3rd is rather solid. However, we are within striking distance, as a Battlegroup, of grabbing 1st place overall so get out there and fly some missions. You have two weeks left to fly the assigned battles.

As you are likely aware, there was also a new free mission released this month that was used for Round 1 of Imperial Storm 8.

FLEET NEWS

Ok, we get some down time now. Squadron ReMobilization is currently scheduled to start next month in June. But I do have this year's Fly Straight Down the Middle competition starting tomorrow, so please come and take part. What other competition can you win a Iron Star - Platinum Wings medal for being a COMPLETELY average pilot? But please do also remember to do TCiB too.

COMPETITIONS

And now for the current competitions available to you all as members of Typhoon Squadron. Remember this is just as of today and you should always check the Competition Center for any new competitions too.

Single Player

  • SP Ace of the TIE Corps 2026 - Season Two
    • End Date – 2026/08/31
    • Synopsis – Simple, fly Single Player missions from the Database and submit a BSF with the pilot file to the website. Different games have a different point value to them but fly the platforms you like. Missions can only be flown once per year for credit.
  • TIE Corps in Battle Season Nine
    • End Date – 2026/05/15
    • Synopsis – One battle each from TIE, XvT, XWA and TFTC will be assigned monthly. Pilots will fly the battles and submit their pilot files through the database normally. You will get points based on how high your scores are compared to the others submitting to the competition too. And bonus points if you manage to set any High Scores for the missions or battles, even if they are later surpassed. But even if you can't shoot for high scores I encourage everyone who owns the Single Player games to fly them, even with full cheats enabled, as you will at least get 2 points per battle you fly and that will go towards the squadron leader board and we may place as squadron high enough to earn a medal.
  • Brush Up On the Original Games: XvT: Balance of Power and X-Wing Alliance
    • End Date – 2026/05/31
    • Synopsis – We have added the original, Totally Games/LucasArts made, campaigns for XvT: Balance of Power and X-Wing Alliance. Get out there and fly the foundational games for our organization. Awards to those who fly the most. Please remember to uninstall all patches and if you are using X-Wing Alliance Upgrade, remember to message me and the TAC if your BSF shows any High Scores so we can mark the submission as ineligible for HS consideration. Also, please remember to NOT use an old pilot file, only submit files that you have flown during the competition.
  • Fly Straight Down the Middle - 2026
    • End Date – 2026/08/28
    • Synopsis – Every week I will assign a different free mission per the posted schedule/cycle. Fly the mission however you like (except no infinite waves in XvT/BoP). The pilot whose score is closest to average of all the scores posted for the mission that week wins. The pilot whose average performance each week is the "best" wins. The pilot whose average across 15 of the 17 weeks is "best" wins the grand prize.

  • Trivia for the Challenged - Season 13
    • End Date – 2026/08/30
    • Synopsis – You all know the drill. Locke sends out trivia questions every week and you all answer them as quickly as you can.

Other

  • Rho's Monthly Watch Party 2026
    • End Date – 2026/12/31
    • Synopsis – For each of the 12 months in 2026, a pilot in Rho who was chosen at random, picks a movie or tv show that is rated PG-13 or less and appears on a streaming service. Maston Dane will make a voting document with times listed for that month and everyone marks each day and time that also works for them. After a few days of voting the day with the most people available is chosen and come the day we all meet up on discord coms and each of us on our own screens start at the same time. IAR for every 2 months of joining in on the watch party for at least a minimum amount of time.
  • Maston's Annual May the Fourth Collectable Cavalcade: Episode 4
    • End Date – 2026/05/08
    • Synopsis – Take a photo of a single item, or themed collection of items to celebrate Star Wars day.

HOW TO ADVANCE

I won't repeat all of what I said in the first report here (go see the First Report for the detailed MSE breakdown) but will remind you all that for a month to count towards a promotion a Merit Medal (medal awarded from MSE points) must be earned. Also, want to highlight that to advance beyond Lieutenant you must pass the TIE Corps Core exam.

STANDING ORDERS

Hey...Do Stuff...
As always, the requirements of Active Duty in the TIE Corps are communicating at least once per month, whether that is talking in a Discord channel or sending me a Direct Message on Discord or an email. And then it is important to post some MSE activity at least once every other month, but preferably every month.
