All Hands - 2026 Annual Battlegroup III SurveyTo kick off the year, I am once again asking all Battlegroup III pilots to fill out a short annual survey. This quick survey helps give me some information on how to direct activities this year, as well as how to best advocate for your interests further up the chain of command. As always, it should only take a minute or two of your time, and will likely come with a small reward as a thank you for your time. That being said, you are more than welcome to submit it anonymously if that's your preference. Link to the 2026 Annual Battlegroup III survey can be found here. Competition Announcement - 2026 Trivia for the Challenged - Season 1A new season of Trivia for the Challenged has begun! Every Monday, a new set of four trivia questions is posted on the #bg3-competitions-announcements channel on the Discord server, with topics ranging from quotes, characters, ships, places and just about everything in-between! Questions remain open for one week. This week's trivia can be found here! This week's trivia will run through end of day (EH/UTC time), January 11th. Rules remain the same as the previous season. Commendations: Grand Order of the Empire for COL Jagged Fell III, Gold Star for GN MasterIn recognition of his pheneomenal contributions to the Tactical Office, our own Typhoon Squadron Commander, COL Jagged Fell III, has been awarded the Grand Order of the Empire! COL Jagged Fell III has been an incredible advocate for the TIE Fighter Total Conversion platform, as well as a faithful officer of the Tactical Office, and this award for all his many hours of effort is well-deserved! Additionally, the Tactical Office has seen fit to award our own Firebird Squadron Commander GN Master a Gold Star for his faithful service to the Tactical Office! Congratulations to GN Master on another award earned in his decade-spanning contributions to the Tactical Office! In addition to developing custom missions and other assets for our single-player game platforms, both these officers go above and beyond their regular roles to test and review all custom missions submitted to the office before they're released to the public. This can be a substantial duty, and both officers are to be commended for contintuing to provide this service to the fleet! Competition Announcement: TIE Corps in Battle Season 9TIE Corps in Battle is back! Starting January 15th, TIE Corps squadrons will once again be challenged to complete four different single player battles every month for the next four months! Each month, a battle will be selected for TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, and TIE Fighter Total Conversion. Pilots are challenged to complete these battles with the best possible score. For each platform, the pilot with the highest score will be awarded 9 points, with the second highest pilot being awarded 8 points, and so on. Each submission will be worth at least 2 points. Any mission high scores will earn 1 bonus point, and any battle high scores will earn 2 bonus points. Points will accumulate for the season, with each pilots points contributing to their own total, their squadron's total, and their battlegroup's total! Participants from the top battlegroup and the top three squadrons will receive awards. The top pilot at the end of the season will be awarded the title of TIE Corps Battlemaster - Season Nine. Missions for the first month (January 15th - February 15th) will be announced soon, on January 15th. Keep an eye on Discord to find out what will be selected first! Competition Last Call: A Starsmas CarolIf you're still in the Christmas mood, there's a week left for this fiction competition! The prompt is simply enough - write a Star Wars related Christmas story, ideally centered around the Emperor's Hammer. Submissions should be sent to MAJ Sam Ariso (_siva_1010 on Discord) by January 17th. Iron Stars will be awarded to the top four finalists. AI submissions are not allowed. Competition Announcement: Recon Office Presents - Rally the TroopsThe Recon Office is running a competition over the next three months encouraging pilots to produce a social media post promoting the Emperor's Hammer and/or any of its subgroups. The goal is to receive the most positive feedback on the post as possible. Any social media platform is acceptable, but the Recon Office recommends utilizing Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, YouTube, or Twitter/X. Emoji reactions are worth 1 point, comments are worth 2 points, and shares are worth 3 points. The social media post that earns the most points wins! Friendly reminder to follow the Code of Conduct, keep things PG-13, and be mindful of what you share online, particularly regarding other members. Iron Stars will be awarded to the top three posts, with the winning pilot earning the title of "Reconnaissance Specialist 1st Class". All participating pilots will be awarded an Imperial Achievement Ribbon. Competition Announcement: Halt, Motto and Name Please!The Recon Office is looking to find a motto and nickname for their ship, the D-CRV Doomsday. Starting January 10th and running through February 9th, the Recon Office is inviting all pilots to submit any ideas they may have for a new motto and new nickname for the D-CRV Doomsday. Pilots may submit as many entries as they would like. At end of the competition, the submissions will be put up to a vote to determine the best motto/nickname for the D-CRV Doomsday! Iron Stars will be awarded to the pilots with the top two mottos and the top two nicknames. Any pilot that submits at least one motto and one nickname will be awarded an Imperial Achievement Ribbon. Competition Reminder - Ace of the TIE Corps 2026: Season 1A new season of Ace of the TIE Corps event has begun! As a quick reminder, Ace of the TIE Corps provides regular awards to the pilots that fly the most in a month and in a season. Iron Stars are awarded monthly to the top ten pilots, and seasonally to the top fifteen pilots who earn the most points in each category (SP, PvP, and PvE). Points are determined by platform used for completing missions (SP) or winning matches (PvE,PvP).
