(Colonel Alexandre Morgan was proud of the way that his office desk had, in the span of a month, been transformed from the most hectic piles of books and notes to the tidiest yet. His exams had been taken and passed, his studies wrapped up for the unit. He had caught up on paperwork for the squadron, and even had found some misplaced by Command with the help of Colonel Davalorn. He and CAM-9 sat side by side at the desk, reviewing Morgan's list of tasks that needed wrapping up before the calendar year ended shortly. "Scheduled our simulation pods for maintenance?" Cam read. "Check," Morgan replied. "Reviewed squadron activity for the cycle?" "Check." "Replaced the lock on your door after Rear Admiral Thorne broke into your office?" Morgan grimaced. "Not yet. I still can't believe that his code cylinders unlocked it." Cam smirked. "Being outranked by your subordinate surely is interesting." Morgan frowned. "You're talking to a retired full Admiral here, surely I'm not outranked?" Cam threw up his hands in placation. "Fair point. Final item - write squadron report?" Scratching the back of his neck in blatant admittance of neglecting that task, Morgan winced. "How about you go work on the lock situation and I'll write the report?" Cam nodded and stood, walking towards the office door. On the way out, he looked back. "And if I don't see you before the chronometer officially ticks over, welcome to 35 ABY.")
Pilots of the Rho Family, We officially have closed the page on 34 ABY. This past year has been a fantastic chapter in Rho Squadron's history - accolades and awards abounded, moments of personal growth and connection repeatedly warmed the hearts, and participation by all metrics was off the charts. For each of us, 35 ABY promises to be a continuation of that greatness, on both an individual and squadron level. I look forward impatiently to the countless nights of gaming together, the nail-biting competitions, the stories to be made, and everything else that the new year promises. Never forget what makes this group special - together we achieve, together we strive, and together we enjoy our passions. Here's to the promises of the new year!
