Introduction

December and the end of 2025 is upon us! There's plenty to discuss, including some news of note for this Battlegroup moving forward, so let us get into it!

Battlegroup News and Competitions

Competition Results: Name that RSD!

As the year comes to a close, we finally have a name and a mission objective for our captured Resurgent-Class Star Destroyer!

After all the votes were tallied, Battlegroup III has selected Harbinger as the name for our RSD, with a mission objective of Mobile casino and marketplace!

Both the name and objective are up to the Fleet Commander for final approval, but I don't forsee any issue with the name. My thanks to CPT Therj'en'nuruodo on submitting the winning name suggestion, LCM Reece Torenn on the winning mission objective suggestion, and everyone who participated in this competition!

Final awards were as follows:

• IS-GR to LCM Reece Torenn (1st place mission objective suggestion, 5th place name suggestion)
• IS-SR to CPT Therj'en'nuruodo (1st place name suggestion, 5th-ish place mission objective suggestion)
• IS-BR to CPT JKast (3rd place name suggestion, 3rd-ish place mission objective suggestion)
• IS-CR to LC Jagged Fell III (2nd-ish place mission objective suggestion)

Announcement: Eagle Squadron Closure

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that the decision has been made to shutter Eagle Squadron for the time being.

MAJ Xylo Pethtel and LT Silas Prince will be transferring to Scorpion Squadron, remaining onboard the Renegade and within the Infiltrator Wing. All remaining Eagle pilots will be transferred to the Phoenix.

Eagle is grounded for now, but the day will come when it will soar again.

In the meantime, we will proceed with four squadrons for the time being, until such time that a fifth squadron is deemed appropriate.

Announcement: New Ship Banner for the MC-90 Renegade

Our own LCM Jafan Russ has been posting some terrific creations in the #infiltrator-wing channel, including a proposed new banner for the MC-90 Renegade!

I'm happy to announce that this banner has been approved and accepted as our new ship banner for the MC-90 Renegade! My thanks to LCM Jafan Russ for his terrific work!

Commendation: Gold Stars for MAJ Sid_Amos

When a pilot achieves the top combat rating for a given activity type (SP/PvP/PvE), they are awarded a Gold Star for this incredible achievement.

I am proud to announce that MAJ Sid_Amos has recently hit BOTH the top PvP rating of Tan and the top PvE rating of Top Ace Ranger, earning two Gold Stars in the process (one awarded, with another soon on its way)!

This is a remarkable achievement! Congrats to MAJ Sid_Amos on earning these awards and reaching these two top ranks!

Competition Reminder - 2025 Trivia for the Challenged - Season 3

Our current season of Trivia for the Challenged continues into its final month!

Every Monday, a new set of four trivia questions is posted on the #bg3-competitions-announcements channel on the Discord server, with topics ranging from quotes, characters, ships, places and just about everything in-between! Questions remain open for one week.

Scorpion Squadron Command Updates

There's been some shuffling in the command staff of Scorpion Squadron, and some congratulations are in order!

First, congrats to CPT Prot Azar, who takes over as the new Executive Officer of Scorpion Squadron!

Second, congrats to MAJ Xylo Pethtel, who will be replacing Prot as FL3 for Scorpion Squadron!

My thanks to both of you for stepping up to these roles. Excited to see how Scorpion continues to grow under its updated command structure!

Battlegroup III Monthly Awards for November 2025

For the Battlegroup III monthly awards in October, congrats to the following:

• For Battlegroup III Squadron of the Month for November 2025, congrats to Tempest Squadron! Hard month to decide, but Tempest had the most activity this month and some great entries for Name that RSD, so the award goes to them for November! Congrats!
• For Battlegroup III Pilot of the Month for November 2025, congrats to Tempest Squadron's MAJ Sid_amos! In addition to reaching those Gold Stars with career highs, MAJ Sid_amos had another 231 PvE wins this month along with some PvP, IU, and fiction to boot! Congrats!
• For Battlegroup III Leader of the Month for November 2025, congrats to Typhoon Squadron's LC Jagged Fell III! LC Jagged Fell III continues to run a tight ship over in Typhoon and continues to go above and beyond in ways that benefit his pilots (and make my life easier). Congrats!

TIE Corps News and Competitions

Competition Reminder: TIE Golf Invitational 2025

Another season of TIE Golf! is soon coming to a close!

Our own LC Jagged Fell III is running a TIE Golf competition. For those who aren't familiar, the basic goal behind TIE Golf is to get the lowest score possible (without hitting 0). There's a few extra rules to keep everything fair and kosher (no cheats, no blowing up friendlies, a laser recalculation for TIE that ensures no point shaving by firing lasers into the vastness of space, etc.), but that general principle is what's at the heart of TIE Golf!

Weekly missions are announced in the appropriate thread in the #competitions channel, as well as the competition listing. We are in the final weeks of the competition, with only the X-Wing Alliance missions left to go!

IS-BWs and IS-CWs are awarded weekly to the two pilots with the lowest score for that week's mission. An IS-SW, IS-BW, and IS-CW will also be awarded every three weeks to the three pilots with the lowest average score across all three missions (for any pilot that flew all three missions). Any pilot who flies all three missions in a cycle will also be awarded an ORA.

An IS-GW through IS-CW will be awarded at the end of the competition to the four pilots with the lowest average score who flew at least 7 of the 9 missions. For more information, please review the competition listing.

There's only two X-Wing Alliance missions left to go! This week's hole is XWA-FREE #154.

Competition Announcement: Yuletide Blaster Jamboree (EA Battlefront II)

For the month of December, CM Mack Udar is running a competition encouraging pilots to earn as many kills as possible in PvE matches of EA Battlefront II - regardless of whether or not the match ends in a victory.

Pilots who wish to participate should send all end game screenshots (regardless of whether the match was a victory or a loss) to CM Mack Udar via Discord (naptown5415).

Top four pilots with the highest total kills will be awarded Iron Stars. All pilots that achieve over 3000 kills will be awarded an ORA.

Competition Announcement: Enter SWTOR Warzone

For the month of December, CPT MsMayham is running a competition encouraging pilots to earn the most kills they can in a single warzone match in Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Players may play any warzone mode they wish, but the match must result in a win. Screenshots of the end-of-match scoreboard (clearly showing kill count and team victory) should be emailed to CPT MsMayham at sidneybeans647@gmail.com in order to participate.

The four players with the highest kill totals in a single match will be awarded Iron Stars. For more information, please review the competition listing.

• SP was again the primary activity type this month, both by most unique pilots and most activity submitted in total.
• X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter was the platform with the most activity submitted and unique pilots (thanks again TIE Golf), followed closely by Helldivers 2.
• Platforms used this month (from most unique pilots to least) included X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, Helldivers 2, X-Wing Alliance, Balance of Power, TIE Fighter Total Conversion, TIE Fighter, EA Battlefront 2, Star Wars Squadrons, Star Conflict.
