RHO SQUADRON REPORT #30

REPORTING OFFICER: Colonel Alexandre Morgan, Squadron Commander

RECIPIENTS: General Gilbert H. Frown; cc: Rho Squadron

DATE SUBMITTED: 12.01.2025

SQUADRON COMMANDER'S CORNER

(Colonel Alexandre Morgan's desk had never been messier, perhaps excluding a few hectic seasons as the head of the Reconnaissance Office. Physical textbooks and reference manuals, which he had assumed were relics of the dark and dusty days of academic yesteryear, were stacked in piles as painful reminders of their not-so-obsolescence. Previous exams and assignments, marked all over with corrections in red ink, were strewn about in a haphazard excuse of prioritization. Holograms of professors lecturing were paused at important moments for Morgan to review.

And in between it all, Morgan's sleeping head lay against the wood.

Major Jonez was sat in a chair on the other side of the desk, his own work perched precariously on his knees. He looked up, saw Morgan asleep, and rolled his eyes. Bunching up a piece of flimsiplast, he lobbed it in Morgan's direction. It hit the desk lightly near his face, but it was enough to startle Morgan up.

Jonez smirked as Morgan regained his bearings. "Studying with your eyes closed must be a technique only squadron commanders are taught," Jonez snorted.

"Keep throwing things at yours and you won't make it," Morgan glared. "Focus on your own work, Major."

Jonez's smile only grew. "It was so quiet and stress-free for a few minutes, I almost didn't notice you had passed out. I shouldn't have woken you up."

Morgan's glare only deepened, but the humor beneath remained intact. "Now that I'm up and refreshed, you better leave. I've got a report to write and a meeting to attend.

Jonez nodded and stood up. "You better not forget about my training in between all those exams," he said as he walked to the door.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world," Morgan replied, and opened a blank document to start the month's report.)

Pilots of the Rho Family,

A fantastic November is now in the books. Well done to all on your achievements, participation, and personal growth. With the post-RTF recovery season now ending, I am excited to be kicking things back into gear!

Unfortunately for this Colonel, 'getting back into gear' will have to play holo-dodgeball with the most rigorous Imperial University schedule that I've ever had. Exams, both regular and professional, speckle the month. I'll update the squadron with messages of sure success as each one falls before my academic prowess (he writes with reckless optimism).

Finally - please keep our ever-faithful Vice Admiral Adom Wietu in your thoughts. Let the Force be the wind in his solar sails.

For the Empire! Long may it reign!
