Competition Announcement: Name that RSD!Before the year comes to a close, it's time to put the finishing touches on our Battlegroup's Order of Battle for next year and name our Resurgent-Class Star Destroyer! As a quick recap, during this year's Imperial Storm, Battlegroup III successfully managed to capture a Resurgent-Class Star Destroyer from the First Order! In subsequent operations this year, enough has been done to bring this vessel up to acceptable operational levels. The only thing left to do is to decide what to call it. In addition to giving it a name, we also need to determine what its objective (aka purpose, aka reason for being) should be! As such, I have opened the following Google Form, asking everyone to suggest:
Submissions can be sent in using the linked form. You're also welcome to send them to me directly via Discord (LockeSetzer) or email (locke.f.setzer@gmail.com) - whatever is easiest. I will accept submissions for the next two weeks. Afterwhich, I will determine the best names and objectives suggested, and then put them to a poll. NOTE - Names and objectives will be listed separately. Points will be awarded for each name and mission objective submission based on 1) final position (voting and ranked) and 2) quality of submission. Awards will be granted to pilots based on total score of their combined submission, with the top four pilots being awarded an IS-GR, IS-SR, IS-BR, and IS-CR respectively. I do have to give the disclaimer that any name we settle on must be approved by the Fleet Commander. This won't impact awards, but there is a possibility that the winning name might not be accepted - in which case we'll keep going down the list until we hit one that is. That being said, we've had no issue with this to date, and I don't expect we will in the future (not that that's a challenge...) For more information, please review the competition listing. Tempest Squadron Command Staff ReshufflingAfter serving as commander of Tempest Squadron for ten months after swapping positions with MAJ Morgoth, COL Mordred and the Tempest command staff have asked to swap positions yet again, which has been approved. As such, congrats to MAJ Morgoth, who returns to the position of Tempest Squadron Commander! As part of this position swap, Tempest Flight Leader CPT Therj'en'nuruodo will be stepping into the Squadron Executive Officer role, while MAJ Grendel replaces him in the FL3 role, and COL Mordred steps back as a Flight Member. My thanks to COL Mordred for this service as Tempest Squadron's commander, and my best wishes to MAJ Morgoth as he takes on the challenge of commanding Tempest Squadron yet again! |

Competition Reminder: TIE Golf Invitational 2025Another season of TIE Golf! is currently raging on! Our own LC Jagged Fell III is once again running a TIE Golf competition. For those who aren't familiar, the basic goal behind TIE Golf is to get the lowest score possible (without hitting 0). There's a few extra rules to keep everything fair and kosher (no cheats, no blowing up friendlies, a laser recalculation for TIE that ensures no point shaving by firing lasers into the vastness of space, etc.), but that general principle is what's at the heart of TIE Golf! Competition will run for nine weeks, with a new mission picked weekly. New missions will be announced in the appropriate thread in the #competitions channel, as well as the competition listing. The current plan is to have three weeks of TIE Fighter, three weeks of X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, and three weeks of X-Wing Alliance. IS-BWs and IS-CWs will be awarded weekly to the two pilots with the lowest score for that week's mission. An IS-SW, IS-BW, and IS-CW will also be awarded every three weeks to the three pilots with the lowest average score across all three missions (for any pilot that flew all three missions). Any pilot who flies all three missions in a cycle will also be awarded an ORA. An IS-GW through IS-CW will be awarded at the end of the competition to the four pilots with the lowest average score who flew at least 7 of the 9 missions. Competition Announcement: Last Man StandingCOL Maston Dane is running a EA Battlefront II PvE competition that challenges you to earn as many battle points you can in a single life! For this competition, the goal is to play a co-op match and try to see how many battle points as you can earn while your character is still alive. Each time you die, your points reset to 0, so this means you have two challenges: 1) stay alive as long as possible, and 2) make sure you get a screenshot of your score before you perish! You are welcome to play as any character option, whether it be a starter (Assault, Heavy, Officer or Specialist), a hero, a purchasable character, or a vehicle (AT-ST, speeder, tank etc). It also doesn't matter what your total points are, what place you come in, or even if you win the match. Only the battle points that are displayed above your health and your weapon's overheating gauge in your HUD are what matters! Screenshots should be sent directly to COL Maston Dane either via Discord DM (Maston_Dane) or email (ehmastondane@gmail.com). You're welcome to send as many screenshots as you'd like, but only your best score will be considered for award placement. An IS-SW, IS-BW, and IS-CW will be given to the first, second, and third best scores respectively. Competition runs from now through December 1st. Competition Announcement: Fleetwide Maintenance (Void Crew)This month, COL Marenta Jean is running a Void Crew competition! The goal of this competition is to play with another TC pilot and try to collect as much alloy and biomass as you can during the run. The alloy and biomass totals for each run will be added together into a "collected materials" score. Each pilot is encouraged to team up and scavenge for materials, and the most lucrative pilots will be rewarded! Only one screenshot needs to be submitted for a pilgrimage. If you have members that need to leave in the middle of a pilgrimage, it is best to return to the hub to capture the totals for alloys and biomass collected during the run. The screenshot will list the players names, which will need to be recorded in the submission form. All screenshots should be submitted by Google form or emailed to COL Marenta Jean (marenta@gmail.com). Submit as many screenshots as desired! Iron Stars will be awarded to the top ten pilots! An IS-GR will be awarded for 1st place, IS-SRs will be awarded for 2nd and 3rd place, IS-BRs will be awarded for 4th, 5th, and 6th place, and IS-CRs will be awarded for 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th place. Competition Reminder: Minefield ConundrumThere is currently an on-going Minesweeper competition hosted by CM Mack Udar that runs through November 13th! The goal is to earn the highest score and best time possible on an expert-mode match of Minesweeper, accessible here: https://minesweeperonline.com/ The match should ideally result in a win, but is not required to.
