(The gentle ring of his quarter's door chime woke Colonel Alexandre Morgan from his unplanned nap. He blinked his eyes clear and sat up as the ring continued, growing more frequent.

"Alright, alright," he muttered to himself as he rose from the bed and flattened his rumpled uniform. He continued muttering half-awake as he walked to the door and keyed it open. On the other side stood CAM-9, standing with her signature exasperated expression and arms crossed.

"Don't tell me you were asleep," she said, her eyes glaring and brow furrowed.

Morgan chuckled. "Asleep? Me? Never. I never sleep."

Cam's expression only darkened, ignoring Morgan's obvious attempt at a humorous deflection. "So your hair and uniform just normally look like you were tossed around in a centrifuge?"

"It's the new fad," Morgan shot back. "All the new recruits are rocking this look."

"You slept through the squadron report deadline, fool."

Morgan's eyes widened, suddenly awake and alert. He dashed back into his room, grabbed his code cylinders and comms unit, and pushed past Cam into the hallway. As he ran the few hallways down to his office, he could hear Cam's chuckling slowly fading in the background.)

I am proud of each and every one of you for taking the relaxing and restorative October that we all deserved. Instead of countless hours in isolated simulation pods, we enjoyed the month by hanging out, battling in trivia competitions, and learning all about the newest get-rich-quick credit farms from our apparently-successful Westric Davalorn. Although, his voice did sound a little different over the comms when he was talking about it...

I look forward to continuing the relaxation this coming month, and I hope that I can get some games in with each of y'all. In between all my studies, I certainly need the distractions.
