TYPHOON SQUADRON REPORT #8
Date: 01 August 2025
From: LC Jagged Fell III
To: AD Locke Setzer
CC: TIE Corps
COMMANDER’S QUARTERS
Typhoon Squadron had been quiet this month. The fires of ReMob had burned bright and the squadron was taking a much deserved rest from their labors. Jagged had been called to a far away place on a mysterious business and wasn't in the Challenge common room much this month but he knew the squadron was in good hands and would stay out of trouble.
SQUADRON NEWS
We had a quiet month after the hard push there at the end for ReMob, but that was totally expected and fine. Several of you have been keeping up with the Trivia comp and most are just taking a well deserved break.
We did have a new pilot join us this month. Javik Keynes joined us mid month and has already earned his promotion to full Lieutenant. Great work. He comes from the TFTC server so I expect him to feel right at home here in our squadron.
Not to toot my own horn but with the release of four more battles this month, I moved into 4th on the all-time leader boards for both total number of battles created and total number of missions created.

FLEET NEWS
We are still in the quiet months of the summer before the chaos that is Raise the Flag in September. We will see more about RtF when it draws nearer but in the meantime, I want to highlight that we do have a Mission Design and Creation competition running at the moment. As of the time of the posting of this report, there are still nearly four weeks left in the creation phase of the competition where you need to submit a “completed” battle (you do not need to have entered into the first phase of the competition). For entry into the second phase of the competition. You WILL need to have passed both Mission Creation and Beta Testing Standards (MCBS) and the and the appropriate platform specific design course (X-Wing Mission Design (XMD), TIE Fighter Mission Creation 3 (TM/3)(or one of it's older versions), X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Mission Design 1 (XTM/1), or X-Wing Alliance Mission Design (XAM)) for the single player platform you are building for to enter into this phase of the competition. If you enjoy writing stories, or flying single player missions, or both, give it a try to make your own, you never know you might find it a lot of fun.
COMPETITIONS
Here is a brief rundown of the current competitions available to you all in the squadron, remember this is just a list as of today and you should keep an eye on the Competition Page of the website for any new ones that get posted. I am going to try and sort them by activity type too.
Single Player
- SP Ace of the TIE Corps 2025 - Season Two
- End Date – 2025/08/31
- Synopsis – Simple, fly Single Player missions from the Database and submit a BSF with the pilot file to the website. Different games have a different point value to them but fly the platforms you like. Missions can only be flown once per year for credit.
- Infiltrator Wing 30th Anniversary Celebration: Single Player Challenge
- End Date – 2025/08/30
- Synopsis – To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the IW, all pilots are challenged to fly the top rated IW battles for each supported platform. See the competition page for the exact battles and the scoring system for the competition. I am personally excited for this one.
Multi-Player
- Star Wars: Hunters - The Final Season, Ranked
- End Date – 2025/10/01
- Synopsis – Making my heart sad, this game has announced it will go off line in October. Play ranked matches in Star Wars Hunters and if you attain the rank of Chromium III or better before the season is done, take a screenshot of the rank placement just before the season ends via DM to GamerRat showing your end of season placement and leaderboard (if applicable).
- SWTOR Conquest 2: The Search for More Conquest, Season 7
- End Date – 2024-08-26
- Synopsis – Pilots within the official organizational guilds on the Star Forge server (“Emperor’s Hammer” for the Sith Empire and “Infiltrator Wing” for the Republic) will compete against each other for placement awards while they aide the organization to meet its in-game goals.
- PvE Ace of the TIE Corps 2025 - Season Two
- End Date – 2025/08/31
- Synopsis – Simple, play any approved primary TIE Corps PvE game and submit the winning screenshots to the website. Different games have a different point value to them but fly the platforms you like.

- Infiltrator Wing 30th Anniversary Celebration: Multiplayer Challenge
- End Date – 2025/08/30
- Synopsis – To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the IW, all pilots are challenged to compete in PvP and PvE matches as Rebel/New Republic/Resistance units. See the competition page for the exact games that are supported and the scoring rules.
Art
- Infiltrator Wing 30th Anniversary Celebration: Arts Challenge
- End Date – 2025/08/30

Fiction/Trivia
- Trivia for the Challenged
- End Date – 2024-08-31
- Synopsis – At the start of each week a timed test will be sent out via Discord. Click on the link and do your best to answer the questions as fast as possible. The winners are scored on who had the most correct answers and then who had the fastest completion time.
Other

Maston Dane will make a voting document with times listed for that month and everyone marks each day and time that also works for them. After a few days of voting the day with the most people available is chosen and come the day we all meet up on discord coms and each of us on our own screens start at the same time. IAR for every 2 months of joining in on the watch party for at least a minimum amount of time.
- 2025 Mission Creation Competition
- End Date – 2025/8/31
- Synopsis – See discussion above but in short, make a 4 mission battle submission.
HOW TO ADVANCE
I won't repeat all of what I said in the first report here (go see the First Report for the detailed MSE breakdown) but will remind you all that for a month to count towards a promotion a Merit Medal (medal awarded from MSE points) must be earned. Also, want to highlight that to advance beyond Lieutenant you must pass the TIE Corps Core exam.
STANDING ORDERS

As always, the requirements of Active Duty in the TIE Corps are communicating at least once per month, whether that is talking in a Discord channel or sending me a Direct Message on Discord or an email. And then it is important to post some MSE activity at least once every other month, but preferably every month.
COMMANDER'S COCKPIT
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to support you all here in any way.
