SCORPION SQUADRON REPORT #5

REPORTING COMMANDER: General Stryker
DATE SUBMITTED: 3-July-25

FROM THE HANGAR

The E-Wings were overworked and in dire need of maintenance, their advanced (and therefore complex) systems strained to breaking point by the continuous operations over the previous month. The pilots, for the most part, were similarly tired and in need of R&R.

Excercise (Re)Mobilisation 7 had brought Scorpion Squadron together in a way Stryker had not thought possible; they had banded together to not only achieve their goals, but blow them out of the water. They had even edged out Battlegroup III favourites Typhoon Squadron, though only by a single point.

Though the effort had been exhausting, there was not a single being in Scorpion Squadron, from Squadron Commander down to junior Astromech technician, who could not be proud of what they had achieved.

While now there was time to rest and recuperate, Stryker knew that greater challenges lay ahead. Scorpion Squadron would, as always, rise to the occasion, but first there were some personnel reassignments to be made.

SQUADRON NEWS
Welcome to my first Squadron Report as Scorpion Squadron Commander!

I've not had to write one of these since 2023, so please bear with me!

Exercise (Re)Mobilisation 7 is OVER! Scorpion Squadron really hit it out of the park, blowing away my expectations and forcing me to revise my goals higher with every passing day! 7/8 pilots contributed to our success, an 87.5% engagement rate!

While we didn't quite make 48 tiers, 41 is an achievement in itself, and it wouldn't have been possible without the continued dedication of Scorpion's pilots! From late-night PvP sessions to blitzing SP Battles, from pulling fiction ideas out of nowhere to passing Imperial University courses, members of Scorpion did it all!

STANDING ORDERS

My rule has always been simple: enjoy yourself and do not feel compelled to participate more than you are comfortable with. What does this mean? It means I'm more concerned with having a happy squadron than a "competitive" squadron. It means I do not "expect" players to go all-out if it is not something they want to do.

It also means if I'm pushing too hard, pilots are welcome to DM me and tell me so (nicely, I hope!)

That said, coasting by on the bare minimum isn't going to advance anyone in Scorpion, or the TC as a whole. Communication is the minimum requirement for any TC member to remain "active", but simply logging into Discord isn't enough to create upward mobility.

The TC offers so many opportunities to engage and earn those rewards; IU courses and fiction or art submissions do not require a computer able to run the most modern games; competitions such as Trivia for the Challenged only require a working knowledge of Star Wars, or the desire to learn more. I, personally, enjoy writing more than gaming these days; especially now I have a new keyboard tray for my desk (curse you Evil_Edgar! *shakes fist*)

So long as we know our limits and stick to what we enjoy, we can do anything!

ROSTER
Some roster changes have happened since the last report, the most obvious being General La'an's retirement from command and my ascention to take his place. This is the fourth IW Squadron I've commanded, and so far I'm pretty pleased about it!

LT Quinn Odai earned a promotion to LCM and the position of SQXO.

LT Dash Ardaan joined us mid-(Re)Mob and smashed the Single Player points out like a madman!

We lost one pilot to the Reserves, and another pilot looks to be joining them soon.

That brings our roster down to eight, soon to be seven. A loss of five since the last report.
COMPETITIONS AND EVENTS
CLOSING COMMENTS

It's time to rest after a successful (Re)Mob! July I intend to be a chill month, emphasising gaming for fun and socialising rather than any specific goal (y'all should still be aiming for medals, though!)

August we'll begin thinking about our battle play for Raise the Flag, which starts in September. That's a way off, though, so right now we should just sit back, relax, and enjoy our success!

End transmission,
