TYPHOON SQUADRON REPORT #4

Date: 01 April 2025
From: MAJ Jagged Fell III
To: AD Locke Setzer
CC: TIE Corps

COMMANDER’S QUARTERS

Jagged's training packages had been a smashing success. The TIE Corps, and Typhoon among those leading the way, had smashed those First Order idiots, and driven them from the Gasriese system and the prize that is the Zephyron gas giant. He and his pilots were tired but ready to continue the fight for the Emperor's Hammer and the TIE Corps whenever called upon. Looking over his orders from the admiralty, Typhoon, and the whole of the TIE Corps, would be given a short Rest and Relaxation leave now that the hostilities over Zephyron had concluded in preparation for a Remobilization to come in short order to prepare the TIE Corps for more combat against the First Order and anyone else here in the Chaos who wanted to try their strength against the might of the Emperor's Hammer.

SQUADRON NEWS

We had a good March and an impressive showing in Imperial Storm VII. I was pleased that more than half of us were able to participate in this first campaign against the First Order. Not all will receive a medal due to needing a minimum of 11 points in a month and a total of more than 20 points when including carryover points to earn the first level of MSE award, but every little bit helped and you should all be getting a campaign medal and some ORAs soon for your help in the battles.

Some big things to highlight this month from the squadron was the Gold Star of the Empire awarded to Triji Boliv for his dedication to the TIE Corps and his reforming of this squadron. Two years ago, Typhoon was in mothballs and through his, and the rest of the squadron's pilots, efforts it was reformed, and we quickly went on to always be in the conversation of the most active squadrons and on the leaderboards for the various competitions.

Also, not to toot my own horn, but the Tactical Office managed to create and release custom plot centric missions to conclude this year's Imperial Storm. I hope you all enjoyed them. Below is the Battle Image for the missions.

Additionally, several of you have recently taken, and passed, the Mission Design and Beta Testing Standards course in the Imperial University. Please let me know if you are interested in being involved in Beta Testing missions in the Tactical Office, we are always looking for help.

FLEET NEWS

We did great against the First Order in our first engagement against them. We are now entering a short time of relaxation before we are being Squadron Remobilization in June. It isn't final yet, but it appears that it will be very similar to last year's ReMob with the squadrons being tasked to take part in all the different types of activity the TIE Corps supports. For those who were not here last year we will be tasked with flying Single Player battles and free missions, flying PvP and PvE matches, with squadron mates, taking Imperial University courses, writing Wiki entries, writing fiction, and writing a 4 mission Battle Plan.

For my fellow IU spammers, you should consider holding off this month as we will need to get a cumlative 12 IU courses passed in the squadron next month and you can only take a class once.

Additionally, the Warfare Office is looking for a new assistant to help out with managing the TIE Corps wide competitions and we will soon have some leadership positions open up in the Battlegroup.

COMPETITIONS

Here is a brief rundown of the current competitions available to you all in the squadron, remember this is just a list as of today and you should keep an eye on the Competition Page of the website for any new ones that get posted. I am going to try and sort them by activity type too.

Single Player

  • SP Ace of the TIE Corps 2025 - Season One
    • End Date – 2025/04/30
    • Synopsis – Simple, fly Single Player missions from the Database and submit a BSF with the pilot file to the website. Different games have a different point value to them but fly the platforms you like. Missions can only be flown once per year for credit.
  • TIE Corps in Battle Season Eight
    • End Date – 2025/04/30
    • Synopsis – One battle each from TIE, XvT, XWA and TFTC will be assigned monthly. Pilots will fly the battles and submit their pilot files through the database normally. You will get points based on how high your scores are compared to the others submitting to the competition too. And bonus points if you manage to set any High Scores for the missions or battles, even if they are later surpassed. But even if you can't shoot for high scores, I encourage everyone who owns the Single Player games to fly them, even with full cheats enabled, as you will at least get 2 points per battle you fly and that will go towards the squadron leader board and we may place as squadron high enough to earn a medal.
  • Fly Straight Down the Middle
    • End Date – 2025/06/27
    • Synopsis – Your goal is to fly the Free mission I assign each week and have your score be the closest to the average of all the scores submitted. I am having lots of fun in this competition seeing the averages change as the scores come in. If you haven't participated yet you are unfortunately too late to be eligible for the top prize at the end, but there are still weekly and monthly prizes up for grabs.

Multi-Player

  • Star Wars: Hunters - Season 5 Ranked
    • End Date – 2025/03/26
    • Synopsis – Making my heart sad, this game has announced it will go off line in October. But they have extended Season 5 and the competition is still on going until it ends. Play ranked matches in Star Wars Hunters and if you attain the rank of Chromium III or better before the season is done, take a screenshot of the rank placement just before the season ends via email to darth.sidious819@gmail.com showing your end of season placement and leaderboard (if applicable).
  • SWTOR Conquest 2: The Search for More Conquest, Season 6
    • End Date – 2024-04-29
    • Synopsis – Pilots within the official organizational guilds on the Star Forge server (“Emperor’s Hammer” for the Sith Empire and “Infiltrator Wing” for the Republic) will compete against each other for placement awards while they aide the organization to meet its in-game goals.
  • PvE Ace of the TIE Corps 2025 - Season One
    • End Date – 2025/04/30
    • Synopsis – Simple, play any approved primary TIE Corps PvE game and submit the winning screenshots to the website. Different games have a different point value to them but fly the platforms you like.
  • PvP Ace of the TIE Corps 2025 - Season One
    • End Date – 2025/04/30
    • Synopsis – Simple, play any approved primary TIE Corps PvP game and submit the winning screenshots to the website. Different games have a different point value to them but fly the platforms you like.

Art

  • TIE Corps needs YOU!
    • End Date – 2025/05/01
    • Synopsis – Create propaganda posters for use by the Reconnaissance Office. All submissions are to be sent via email or Discord DM. (RA Jai Thorne/ehjaithorne@gmail.com)

Fiction/Trivia

  • Trivia for the Challenged
    • End Date – 2024-04-27
    • Synopsis – At the start of each week a timed test will be sent out via Discord. Click on the link and do your best to answer the questions as fast as possible. The winners are scored on who had the most correct answers and then who had the fastest completion time.

Other

  • Rho Watch Parties 2025
    • End Date – 2025/12/31
    • Synopsis – For each of the 12 months in 2025, a pilot in Rho who was chosen at random, picks a movie or tv show that is rated PG-13 or less and appears on a streaming service. Maston Dane will make a voting document with times listed for that month and everyone marks each day and time that also works for them. After a few days of voting the day with the most people available is chosen and come the day we all meet up on discord coms and each of us on our own screens start at the same time. IAR for every 2 months of joining in on the watch party for at least a minimum amount of time.

HOW TO ADVANCE

I won't repeat all of what I said in the first report here (go see the First Report for the detailed MSE breakdown) but will remind you all that for a month to count towards a promotion a Merit Medal (medal awarded from MSE points) must be earned.

STANDING ORDERS

Hey...Do Stuff...
As always, the requirements of Active Duty in the TIE Corps are communicating at least once per month, whether that is talking in a Discord channel or sending me a Direct Message on Discord or an email. And then it is important to post some MSE activity at least once every other month, but preferably every month.

COMMANDER'S COCKPIT

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to support you all here in any way.
