SCORPION SQUADRON REPORT #4

REPORTING COMMANDER: General La'an
DATE SUBMITTED: 31/3/25

FROM THE HANGAR

The Renegade's hangar was a bustling hive of activity, flight teams tending to fighters and shuttles while droids of all types cut across the deck on their own missions and tasks. The corner assigned to Scorpion was a quieter affair, the 6 E-Wings having undergone much needed maintenance after the latest encounter with the First Order forces in the area. Beautiful, powerful and effective as they were, the E-Wing was unforgiving if it's scheduled maintenance was missed or delayed, something all Scorpion pilots had learned quickly rather than risk being exposed by a malfunction mid-combat. The pilots themselves had rotated out of the active roster for a period of much needed rest.

SQUADRON NEWS

Welcome all to this squadron report, the first in many months - as always I battle with the fact that anything worth saying here has been captured in notifications, Discord channels, announcements or as part of the functions of the TC database. That being said, there are a couple of items I want to put out to the squadron and any wider audience - in addition the attentive will note the format of this report is slightly different... I'm on the road with work and have had to use an old Epsilon squadron report as a template which has proven an utter pain in the arse to convert across to Scorpion colours!

Firstly, IS7 has drawn to an end and I'm pleased to see some solid participation numbers for the squadron, with 5 of 6 having contributed activity. I know that Imperial Storm narratives are always a challenge to follow unless you;re part of the team running the BG effort, but I'm glad to see that despite this you all engaged well!

Secondly, I've already made it clear that I intend to step down from Scorpion CMDR shortly after 9+ months in command and you should expect to see the role advertised in the coming days. I'd urge any pilot regardless of seniority that has an interest in command to complete the SM/6 IU course and apply if interested - CMDR is a great opportunity to shape a part of the club and create your own culture and ethos within a close knit group. I've had a great 9 months here and intend to stay on as an FM, but it's time for the next CMDR to step up and build on what we've done so far. We're currently the smallest squadron in the TC, but that means we've got all the more room to expand into. I've also made some changes internally, with FL3 now vacant and open for any pilot interested in taking a step up that isn't as much of a jump into leadership as CMDR.

Finally, since my last report we've had a number of roster changes, promotions and medal awards - I'm really pleased to see a solid core of pilots steadily bringing in medals and promotions, with Thalios and Evil_Edgar having both picked up LCM in recent weeks. I know our single LT will not be far behind, so keep pushing!
STANDING ORDERS

I have no intention of being prescriptive or demanding activity, but I'm always grateful for regular contact over Discord and any additional activity that you might enjoy and that we can use to drive award through the MSE process or via an IAR.

There are plenty of activities we can equate to points in evaluations, be it IU courses, Legions, SP missions, competition participation or activities such as INPR writing and uniforms, fictions or art. All of these can generate the points I'm then able to spend on merit medals that in turn will unlock promotion beyond your current rank. Remember that time served isn't a promotion guarantee, the TC's policy is that for each month required in rank you should be earning a merit medal in order to be eligible.

ROSTER
Scorpion Squadron is holding at 12 (-) pilots strong - I hope to see this number continue to grow, but where required by the review process be advised that I won't shy away from making clear recommendations on transfers. Likewise, if anyone wishes to depart the squadron please let me know and we can take the required admin action, rather than drifting out of touch over a period of months. We've had multiple new pilots go to the effort of joining, not comment/participate and either depart the server or just time out and it's no fun for anyone if we have to chase people, just to be ignored!
COMPETITIONS AND EVENTS
IS7 has now concluded with the after action news to come in the next few hours - in future I'll include links to current large-scale competitions, noting that the squadron PvP/PvE competitions running have been allowed to lapse by me over the last few weeks and I'll be getting back up to date in the coming days. Stay tuned!

CLOSING COMMENTS

A busy few months in RL with work and domestic clearing out what little free time I seem to get, so my apologies if I've been quieter than usual. Hopefully the next few weeks will see me winning back more time to spend with you good people! Stay tuned to the TC News page for updates, as well as all relevant Discord channels.

End transmission,
