THETA SQUADRON REPORT
THETA CMDR: GN Jarek La'an
REPORT DATE: 6 Apr 19
Squadron Review
Welcome all to the traditionally overdue Theta report, on this occasion a placeholder at that. The March MSE has been submitted as of the 4th and I'm expecting a number of awards to be made, so rather than pad out this report, a post-MSE report will be forthcoming as soon as awards are approved!

I'm also pleased to take this opportunity to again welcome LC Nile Rosenau to Theta, by the time of this report now in place as the new FL of Flight II and already proving to be active and the equivalent of the good conscience on my shoulder. This probably means the opposite is true of Keth as FL of Flight III.

As you'll recall from the last report and a number of previous evaluaions, several pilots have been less communicative in recdent months - Lars has had a month added before an overdue MIA report is filed to give his new FL an opportunity to entice him back. My own activity hasn't been far off in terms of lack of formal reporting, which you will all note is something of a traditional part of being Theta CMDR! My increasing RL commitments, domestic and professional, are probably going to keep ramping up, which in turn means my tenure as Theta CMDR this time is likely coming to an end within the next couple of months. As soon as I know the dates for the next RtF I'll be doing some basic maths and figuring out the timeline for any relief to hit the ground running. But more on that to come.
Competitions

This section will, in future, focus on competitions running primarily for Theta pilots as well as the Wing or TC, but it is always advisable to look at the Competitions Center and Combat Center for full details on all competitions. Two Theta competitions are now pending approval, with a focus on flight and fiction, with the latter only eligible if a pilot has taken part in the linked flight competition. We'll see how these go!

  • Thetan Aces
Every squadron report will include a randomly picked Free mission for TIE, XvT and XWA. Every member of Theta has 10 days from announcement to fly these missions. Highest score in each platform will earn an IS-BW - if one pilot sweeps all 3 highest scores, they will earn 2 IS-BWs and the 3rd will be upgraded to an IS-SW.

The next round of missions will be released at the post-MSE report!

  • After Action Reports
Any participant in Thetan Aces is eligible for this competition - they are to provide an after action report as a fiction or narrative of one of the missions flown by them, of no more than 400 words. All contributors will have the same 10 day period from announcement of the Thetan Aces mission to submit. Best report will earn an IS-BR and inclusion in the next Thetan WSR.

  • TIE Corps in Battle
Every month, there will be a full battle from each of the major SP platforms (TIE, XvT, XWA) assigned. Pilots will fly each battle that they choose and BSF the battles to the TC database and forward the BSF email to Pete Mitchell. If the pilot has earned a high score, BSF it and also send the pilot file to Pete Mitchell in case the BSF is not approved in time. Please also forward the BSF confirmation to Pete Mitchell as well.

  • TIE Corps Spammers 2019
In this competition, the rules are made up and the points don’t matter! Seriously! The objective of this competition is to complete the assigned free missions as fast as possible! Cheating is encouraged (In game cheats only)! To participate, simply fly the assigned mission and take a screenshot of the debrief screen that shows how long it took you to complete the mission. Submit the BSF to the database, and forward the confirmation email to the TCCOM along with your screenshot of the time it took.

  • TIE Corps on Recon
Submit a screenshot each week from one of Star Conflict's multiplayer game modes (Domination, Beacon Hunt, PvE, Team Battle, and Combat Recon). Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

  • TIE Corps vs AI
Submit a screenshot each week from Star Conflict's Player vs. AI modes. Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

  • Wing II Commander's Escort Flight / Warrior Commodore's Escort Flight
These are MP and SP versions of the same comp: fly enough missions to rank among the top four on the Warrior for the month to earn points. Iron Stars are awarded to the top four every month with a quarterly bonus. For the Commodore's Escort Flight, LoCs and LoSs are summed for the total.

After Action Reprots
'Done!' 'Done? You can't be done. You just started.'

'Spam is quick. I'm good at spam. What can I say?'

'This isn't a spam comp, Yods. You were supposed to get a high score on this simulation and then write it up as a training exercise for the rookies!'

'...oops. It'll be embarrassing if I win then, I guess'

Pickled Yoda breaks the fourth wall and addresses the camera directly.

'You've got to be in it to win it. Half the battle is just turning up.'

Many thanks to Yoda for the first AAR to be submitted, as well as a clean sweep of the last round, Three IS-BW and an IS-BW will be winging (bad pun acknowledges) their way to him soon. Stay tuned for the inclusion of AAR comp submissions in future reports!

In Closing
Looking forward to the next report, MSE awards and the next Thetan Aces round will be announced.

Until then, stay active as best you can!

Onwards,
