INTRO

First of all, I apologize for the late report, RL got in the middle. Well it has been a quiet week squadron-wise. Personally I’ve been dealing with RL issues as I said, but I found a moment to enable some old editing tools such as BinHexEdit and MXvTED which are still the main ways to edit craft slots in TIE95/XvT/BoP/XWA. Been thinking on ideas for a competition for us and some fiction as well as I reviewed the mission editors such as XvTED and AlliED.

I’ll let you know, getting used to all the changes for the last decade is quite an interesting challenge, not to mention I’m noticing a huge effort from the admiralty to increase activity levels. I honestly liked the competitions currently going on. Even some of those contain ideas which I was thinking about before reviewing the list.

But the real deal this week however, is the comeback to active duty of LCM Jason Kotare for which I give him once more a warm welcome back into active duty and into Alpha Squadron! LCM Kotare has rejoined in force, with some pretty decent activity which I have the privilege to document on this report. So, with that said, onto the news!

•The TIE Corps Commander (TCCOM) AD Pete Mitchell is back to regular duty. Welcome back sir!

•COL Impulse of Delta Squadron successfully converted 16-bit installers from X-Wing Alliance patches to

work under 64-bit systems. Old battles now have new life!

ISDII Hammer

•The Commodore has went back to Windows 7, so expect some better gaming. Also he's got his new work schedule that starts at the end of October on the 28th. Work will be Sunday-Thursday from 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM U.S Eastern Time.

•Lieutenant Commander Jason Kotare has returned to active duty and was reassigned into Alpha Squadron!

COMMANDER’S ANALYSIS

LCM Kotare is a fine addition whose activity reminds me of the old day’s FM usual levels of activity and for that I’m happy.

I thought of competitions for the squadron but after reviewing the ongoing competitions I realized we have more than enough for the moment to become particularly active. I even have to take my time to review each one of the fleet or wing-wide competitions. It’s quite a lot of monthly/annual chances for a few good medals so let’s work with the entire fleet and raise those levels of activity!

Nevertheless, I noticed we have no citations. I think it is time to fix that, just let me review once more the procedures for competitions so I might add just one for us to begin working as a team towards the common goal of getting squad citations.

We also need to get on our foot, on flying shape practicing both coop and PvP for which I’m more than willing for a few sparring rounds with you my fellow Alpha pilots. Contact me on Telegram/Discord so we can work it out!

I’m taking my time to slowly but firmly improve our performance as a unit. I’m considering mid and long term goals...just allow me to catch up with 10 years of events and changes.

And as I previously stated, I liked the ongoing competitions. I’d like however, to see someday an automation of the point system many of those competitions are currently implementing. That’d make way easier to follow the developments, just a thought. I guess I’ll have to experiment with competitions and find ways using MS Excel as I’m already thinking on using it for reporting squadron’s activity.
