Sin Squadron
SIN WEEKLY SQUADRON REPORT #34
SIN CMDR: LC Hav Antiel
REPORT DATE: 28 February 2018
SQUADRON COMMANDER'S CORNER
This is a short end-of-month report to update our Project 659 standings and introduce March's battles. At the end of February, we improved from zero to three Squadron Citations! We're now tied with Alpha Squadron. That's what I'm taking about, Sinners!

In addition to CM Rando's entry for TIE TC 214, I also managed to complete my first XWA battle, XWA-TC 4. After years of flying TIE Fighter, it's been quite an adjustment to move to XWA and XvT. They share familiar DNA with TIE Fighter, but there are quite a few small details that will take some time to adjust to. For example, it took me three failed attempts before I realized I had to hyper out to a different sector in XWA. *facepalm* If you know any helpful tips or tricks, feel free to send them my way.
SQUADRON NEWS
  • Sin now has three Squadron Citations!
  • March Project 659 assignments have been posted. See the section below for links and details.

  • CM Rando and LC Branet finish first and third in TCoP Round 4.
  • LC Branet finishes second in TCAI Week 8.
  • LC Branet finished third in Week 8 of TCoR.
COMPETITIONS

I will summarize competitions that apply to Sin in this section, but you should always check the Competitions Center and Combat Center for full details on all competitions.

  • Project 659
Each month, fly the SP battles indicated in the Sin Weekly Squadron Report and earn bonus points for high scores and fastest submissions.

  • TIE Corps on Patrol
For 2018, TCoP is moving to every other week. VA Pete Mitchell is taking the TCoP helm this year, so please note that BSF emails/pilot files will be due by 5 pm Pacific/8 pm Eastern/1 am London one every other Monday starting January 15.

  • TIE Corps Pilot League
Like TCoP, the Pilot League is a single-player comp taking place every other week. The difference here is that pilots have a rolling handicap. Each round, the pilot with the highest handicap score (expressed as a percentage of the high score) in each platform will earn 4 points. The next highest score will earn 3, the next highest 2, and all other submissions will earn 1. If the winning pilot in a platform also beat the high score (without the handicap added), that pilot will earn 5 points for that platform. There are more details about the handicap calculations on the competitions page, but needless to say, I'm very excited about this one!

  • Imperial Storm - A New Hope
This is the turn-based map campaign that the WARDs have been working on for some time. Battle teams led by the Warrior, Hammer, and TCCS battle for dominance over systems on the map. Be on the look out for SP and MP assignments, pilots.

  • TIE Corps on Recon
Submit a screenshot each week from one of Star Conflict's multiplayer game modes (Domination, Beacon Hunt, PvE, Team Battle, and Combat Recon). Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

  • TIE Corps vs AI
Submit a screenshot each week from Star Conflict's Player vs. AI modes. Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

  • Wing II Commander's Escort Flight / Warrior Commodore's Escort Flight
These are MP and SP versions of the same comp: fly enough missions to rank among the top four on the Warrior for the month to earn points. Iron Stars are awarded to the top four every month with a quarterly bonus. For the Commodore's Escort Flight, LoCs and LoSs are summed for the total.
PROJECT 659
Let's keep earning those Squadron Citations, Sinners. Every month, I'll announce a battle for TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance. Your mission is to fly those battles before the end of the month.

Every battle BSF earns you one point; the first pilot to submit the BSF for each assigned battle earns a bonus point, and additional bonus points are awarded for ?80% of the existing high score and a further bonus point if you beat the high score. I'll keep track of points and award IS-BWs for every 5 points and IS-SWs for every 20 points.

FEBRUARY STANDINGS
Pilot Battles Bonus Points
CM Rando 1 1 (fastest submission, TIE-TC 214) 2

It's just CM Rando on the standings table for now. I hope some other Sinners will join him in March. Speaking of which, here are the next monthly assignments.

PLATFORM BATTLE HIGH SCORE 80%
TIE Fighter TIE-TC 165 404,655 323,724

CLOSING COMMENTS
February is in the books, and I'm getting ready to complete the second MSE of the new year. Thank you to the pilots who contacted me to share their feedback regarding competitions. I want to remind every Sin pilot that your primary goal is to enjoy your time in the TIE Corps. Helping our squadron is your secondary goal. I can't tell you what the secret goal is, but that strange looking guy in the dark robes recommends buying your CMDR a drink in the Warrior cantina.

For Sin,
