Sin Squadron
SIN WEEKLY SQUADRON REPORT #33
SIN CMDR: LC Hav Antiel
REPORT DATE: 24 February 2018
SQUADRON COMMANDER'S CORNER
Time to celebrate, Sinners: We have our first Squadron Citation! This moves us past the inactive squadrons, Beta and Sigma, and puts Alpha square in our sights.

Squadron Battleboards

After some missteps, I managed to complete XvT TC 14, one of this month's Project 659 missions. It was my first experience with XvT after a lifetime of flying TIE Fighter, and there are some things that are going to take me a while to get used to.
  • XvT doesn't have the 'cheat menu' options like invulnerability and unlimited ammo.
  • There's no way to accelerate time, which is unfortunate when you're waiting 10+ minutes for an ISD to hyper out.
  • You can't pause the game! That one bit me a few times...
There's still a few days to complete February's Project 659 missions. I hope see some Sinners join in!
SQUADRON NEWS
  • MAJ Nebular has joined us from the reserves. Welcome!
  • Sin now has its first Squadron Citation.

COMPETITIONS

I will summarize competitions that apply to Sin in this section, but you should always check the Competitions Center and Combat Center for full details on all competitions.

  • Project 659
Each month, fly the SP battles indicated in the Sin Weekly Squadron Report and earn bonus points for high scores and fastest submissions.

  • TIE Corps on Patrol
For 2018, TCoP is moving to every other week. VA Pete Mitchell is taking the TCoP helm this year, so please note that BSF emails/pilot files will be due by 5 pm Pacific/8 pm Eastern/1 am London one every other Monday starting January 15.

  • TIE Corps Pilot League
Like TCoP, the Pilot League is a single-player comp taking place every other week. The difference here is that pilots have a rolling handicap. Each round, the pilot with the highest handicap score (expressed as a percentage of the high score) in each platform will earn 4 points. The next highest score will earn 3, the next highest 2, and all other submissions will earn 1. If the winning pilot in a platform also beat the high score (without the handicap added), that pilot will earn 5 points for that platform. There are more details about the handicap calculations on the competitions page, but needless to say, I'm very excited about this one!

  • Imperial Storm - A New Hope
This is the turn-based map campaign that the WARDs have been working on for some time. Battle teams led by the Warrior, Hammer, and TCCS battle for dominance over systems on the map. Be on the look out for SP and MP assignments, pilots.

  • TIE Corps on Recon
Submit a screenshot each week from one of Star Conflict's multiplayer game modes (Domination, Beacon Hunt, PvE, Team Battle, and Combat Recon). Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

  • TIE Corps vs AI
Submit a screenshot each week from Star Conflict's Player vs. AI modes. Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

  • Wing II Commander's Escort Flight / Warrior Commodore's Escort Flight
These are MP and SP versions of the same comp: fly enough missions to rank among the top four on the Warrior for the month to earn points. Iron Stars are awarded to the top four every month with a quarterly bonus. For the Commodore's Escort Flight, LoCs and LoSs are summed for the total.
PROJECT 659
It's time to earn some Squadron Citations, Sinners. Every month, I'll announce a battle for TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance. Your mission is to fly those battles before the end of the month.

Every battle BSF earns you one point; the first pilot to submit the BSF for each assigned battle earns a bonus point, and additional bonus points are awarded for ?80% of the existing high score and a further bonus point if you beat the high score. I'll keep track of points and award IS-BWs for every 5 points and IS-SWs for every 20 points.

FEBRUARY ASSIGNMENTS
PLATFORM BATTLE HIGH SCORE 80%
TIE Fighter TIE-TC 214 604,146 483,317
X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter XvT-TC 14 620,162 496,130
X-Wing Alliance XWA-TC 4 20,160 16,128

How were these battles selected? The following criteria were used:
  1. Fewest number of BSFs needed to earn a Squadron Citation
  2. Highest average rating in the Battle Center

CLOSING COMMENTS
I'd like to take a moment to recognize LC Earnim Branet and CM Rando for their sustained levels of activity. As my activity levels have been decreasing over the last few months, I've realized the dedication it takes to continually fly with such commitment. As a CMDR, it would be easy to take these pilots for granted; I hope the merit awards from January's MSE serve to show that I appreciate their dedication.

Our COM and the SOO have been discussing some changes to Raise the Flag in our weekly meetings on Discord. I'd like to know what kind of competitions Sinners want to see. What would get you fired up?
