-----EPISODE IV: TRAITORS?-----

The brig aboard ISDII Challenge

It was nearing 12 hours since Sub-Lieutenant Adwan Yokcha and I were recovered from space and thrown into the Challenge's brig. I hadn't been able to sleep for a moment, but Yokcha had knocked out almost immediately. Even now, he was snoring on the durasteel bunk as I sat elbows-on-knees waiting for what was to come. We hadn't seen so much as a mouse droid since being locked up, and I was trying to tell myself that no news was good news.

'Antiel!' came a digitized squawk from the corridor as a stormtrooper approached. 'Holovid for you from Admiral Elwood the Brave.' This can't be good, I thought.

A banged-up black and gold R5 unit trailed behind the trooper. It clanged to a stop against the bars of our cell door. With a crackling whistle, it projected a pint-sized hologram of Woody onto the duracrete floor in front of me.

'Commander Antiel and Sub-Lieutenant Yokcha,' the hologram Woody spoke. 'Your court martial has been scheduled for this afternoon at 04:00 hours in the court chamber aboard this ship. In the absence of the JAG, I will act as judge. You will need to select an advocate to represent you in the trial. Otherwise, I will select one for you -- in this case, I would likely choose Admiral Mitchell, your immediate superior.'

The hologram Woody bent double and coughed into his fist before straightening up.

'This is a most unfortunate incident,' the hologram continued, 'and I hope you are able to provide evidence to explain your circumstances. Nevertheless, I am prepared to exercise the full extent of the Articles of War as necessary. Please take time to choose your advocate with utmost care.'

The holovid fizzled and the miniature Woody vanished.

'You heard to admiral,' said the stormtrooper. 'I need to report your choice of advocate to my commander ASAP, so hurry it up.'

I looked over a Yokcha, still slumbering. He'd only been a member of the TIE Corps for a week or so before I'd dragged him into the brig with my actions. It was an honest mistake, I thought. I'm sure Woody will understand.

'Heard you tried to kamikaze the TCCOM,' said the stormtrooper, shaking his head. 'Good luck finding an advocate who can get you off the hook for that.'

COMPETITIONS

I will summarize competitions that apply to Sin in this section, but you should always check the Competitions Center and Combat Center for full details on all competitions.

  • The Price of Sin - This is a weekly competition with a separate IS-BW awarded to the pilot earning the greatest number of LoC/LoS/or highest number of SP missions flown. Minimum criteria for award is 2+ pilots participating across any of the 3 categories.

  • RtF - 2017 - Graphics Bonus Competition - Members are to create a Star Wars combat scene. Just one submission per pilot will be allowed for the bonus competition. Quality will be a criterion, but don’t refrain from submitting your hand made drawings or your paint brush things, as points will be awarded for them as well. The idea of the picture is as important as its execution. Graphics will be graded by TCCOM, SOO and COO. The competition’s four first places will award for their squadrons and ships 100, 75, 50 and 25 points respectively, and the graphics grades will also count towards the global Raise the Flag Competition for the pilots. All other participants will earn 5 points to their squadrons and ships. Deadline is Sunday, June 18th. First place will be awarded an IS-GR, with IS-SR and IS-BR for the second and third places.

CLOSING COMMENTS
Sin has moved ahead of Delta by a mere four points in the RtF squadron leaderboard to take 4th place for the moment. MAJ Branet and I are ranked 9th and 11th respectively in the overall pilot rankings. MAJ Branet continues to pile up LoS numbers as I slowly add to my personal SP total.

Just for fun, I was looking back through the historical RtF standings, and I was blown away by the numbers that Sin squadron put up in 2014 (2350, 2nd place) and 2015 (2511, 2nd place). Pilots like Plif, Wraith, Nolij, Flelm, and Wondra flew hundreds of missions. The good news is that Sin is on pace to surpass last year's total within the next week (465, second-to-last place). I've said it for two weeks straight, but I'll say it again: I would love to see our skilled veterans and young guns participate in RtF in some way this year.
