Imperial Navy Personnel Record
That secrecy failed them.
While he was still young, his family became entangled in a hunt involving an Imperial remnant searching for Force-sensitive individuals across the Outer Rim. His parents attempted to flee Nevarro after discovering that someone had begun asking questions about him. They never made it off-world. Their transport was ambushed in the badlands beyond the lava flats, and by the time he arrived, guided only by a terrible feeling in the Force, the wreckage was already burning beneath the night sky. No bodies were ever recovered — only scorched fragments and signs of a professional kill team. Whether they were murdered, captured, or taken for experimentation was never confirmed.
Alone and hunted, he survived by disappearing into the guild-controlled underworld of Nevarro. He learned to track targets, read lies, and weaponize the unnatural intuition he tried so hard to suppress. Over the years, his reputation grew: a quiet Chiss bounty hunter who never missed, always seemed one step ahead, and vanished before questions could be asked. Most believed his talents came from discipline and instinct. Only a handful ever realized the truth — that the Force whispered through every shot he fired and every decision he made. But deep down, every bounty he accepted was driven by the same purpose: uncovering what truly happened to his family and hunting those responsible across the Outer Rim.
Yet despite the distrust, few dared question his value. His record as a bounty hunter and starfighter pilot earned him a reputation bordering on legend throughout the Outer Rim. Targets that vanished into pirate sectors, asteroid fields, or lawless hyperspace routes somehow still ended up captured — or dead. In the cockpit, he became known for flying with terrifying precision, often surviving engagements that should have destroyed him. Among pilots, there was a grudging respect that transcended politics: they knew that if he was assigned to a hunt or escort, the mission would likely succeed. To the Empire, he was not truly one of them — but he was useful, dangerous, and increasingly difficult to ignore.
The Hunt Through the Glass Canyons
At only sixteen standard years old, the young Chiss accepted his first independent bounty on Nevarro after a local guild hunter disappeared while pursuing a smuggler through the planet’s volcanic glass canyons. Most believed the target had escaped off-world, but he sensed otherwise. Guided by instinct and faint impressions through the Force, he tracked the fugitive into a collapsed mining tunnel beneath the lava flats. The smuggler attempted an ambush, but the young hunter reacted with impossible speed, disarming and capturing the target before the man could fire a second shot. The Guild paid him reluctantly, unsettled by how efficiently he worked. Word spread quickly through the underworld that the “blue-eyed ghost” could find anyone.
The Derelict Above Moraband
Years later, while pursuing a bounty tied to a missing Imperial courier, his hunt led him into the outer orbit of Moraband. There, he discovered an ancient drifting Sith shuttle buried within the wreckage of a derelict frigate. Drawn by something he could not explain, the Chiss boarded the vessel alone and uncovered fragments of Sith teachings stored within damaged holocrons and navigational archives. Though incomplete, the knowledge awakened darker instincts already buried within him — sharpening his aggression, resolve, and connection to the Force. From that point onward, his fighting style became colder and more precise, and rumors began circulating that something about him had changed after returning from the dead world.
The Kessel Run Intercept
During his later youth, he earned recognition as a pilot after intercepting a heavily armed pirate convoy near Kessel. Flying an aging but heavily modified starfighter, he pursued the convoy alone through unstable hyperspace lanes and debris fields that experienced pilots refused to enter. Against overwhelming odds, he disabled the lead ship and forced the remaining pirates into surrender. Witnesses claimed he flew as though he could predict enemy maneuvers seconds before they happened. The feat cemented his reputation not only as a bounty hunter, but as one of the most dangerous independent pilots operating in the Outer Rim.
While operating in the Mid Rim, the Chiss accepted a covert contract from Imperial-aligned agents to locate a surviving Jedi rumored to be hiding among refugee settlements. The hunt lasted nearly a year and forced him across forgotten colonies, abandoned temples, and criminal networks. When he finally cornered the aging Jedi within the ruins of an ancient monastery, the confrontation tested his connection to the Force more than any battle before it. Though the Jedi attempted to appeal to the conflict within him, he ultimately struck the former Knight down. In the aftermath, he secretly claimed the Jedi’s damaged lightsaber and fragments of recovered teachings, beginning his quiet descent toward Sith philosophy and power.
The Battle of the Red Nebula
As his reputation grew, he became increasingly sought after as both an assassin and combat pilot. During a major confrontation near a disputed trade route in the Outer Rim, he was ambushed by multiple pirate starfighters within a crimson gas nebula known for disabling sensors and scrambling targeting systems. Despite being vastly outnumbered, he destroyed or disabled nearly the entire squadron through a combination of impossible reflexes, brutal maneuvering, and instinctive Force-guided flying. Surviving witnesses claimed his fighter moved like “a living shadow” within the nebula. After the battle, several Imperial officers began quietly recommending his recruitment into the Emperor's Hammer.
The Hunt That Changed His Allegiance
Before formally joining the Empire, he was contracted to eliminate a rogue warlord operating near the remnants of Imperial territory. Expecting another criminal tyrant, he instead discovered disciplined Imperial veterans attempting to restore order to worlds abandoned after the Empire’s collapse. Fighting alongside them during a brutal boarding action, he witnessed something he had rarely seen in the Outer Rim: structure, loyalty, and purpose. Though he remained an outsider, the encounter reshaped his view of the Empire. In time, he chose to align himself with the Emperor's Hammer — not out of blind devotion, but because he believed strength and order were the only things capable of surviving the chaos consuming the galaxy.
Physically, he suffered from a severe sensitivity to certain industrial chemical agents commonly used in mining operations and starship fuel refinement — a lingering consequence of prolonged exposure during his years on Nevarro. While not debilitating, exposure to these compounds could cause intense migraines, blurred vision, and temporary disorientation, forcing him to rely on sealed equipment and filtration systems during prolonged operations in hazardous environments.
Within the Emperor's Hammer, he sees a more focused and disciplined extension of that same principle. It is not loyalty or ideology that binds him, but respect for capability and results. He serves not as a believer, but as an asset — aligned with the organization because it provides structure, purpose, and opportunity to apply his skills on a scale greater than independent bounty work ever allowed.
More personally, his decision was shaped by the belief that survival in the galaxy increasingly depended on alignment with power rather than isolation from it. The organization provided a framework where his skills — hunting, infiltration, and elite piloting — could be applied without restraint or moral interference. In joining, he did not abandon his independence so much as weaponize it within a system strong enough to make it matter.
