Drace was born in the outskirts of the city of Freelonn. His family was nomadic in nature, settling every few years in particular places in the vast junkyard wastelands on Ord Mantell. Their trade; scraping, junking, salvaging and repair. During most of his youth, he spent his time with his older sister, Drea, while they both assisted their father in scavenging.
Like most of the families that settled outside of the major ports and hubs of Ord Mantell, the Phaelons had been on the planet for generations dating back to the first Corellian settlers. Some of Drace's ancestors were among the first to found the city of Freelonn. However, as time went on and Ord Mantell became less of a lush landscape and more of a landfill for scrap and a hot spot for criminal activities, his people eventually took to the country side for a less complicated way of rural life.
Living life as scrappers on Ord Mantell, the Phaelons' business barely provided enough for the family to make ends meet. While citizens and visitors of the large city centers thrived due to their various capital industries like casinos, clubs and attractions, it was common place for Mantellians on the outer regions to struggle with basic necessities. Separated from their more modern counterparts, Mantellians living outside the cities were left to provide for their own means in terms of education, health, food, housing.
Significant events of childhood:
Even though his family lived a humble existence, Drace never let that dampen his inner desire to pursue a bigger path, one that would lead him out of the endless landfill and junkyards, past the scum and villany in places like Wolport and Ord Mantell City, to the galaxy and beyond.
Drace and Drea discover a small HoloTable while searching the junkyards and repair the device.
Catches his first glimpse of the historic Five Sabers competition on the planet of Theron, hosted by Han Solo. Watches the Junior Sabers portion of the competition for young pilots and begins to dream of one day becoming a pilot
Following the competition, Drace looks up instructions on the HoloNet and learns how to construct his first swoop bike out of an old jet engine and spare parts. Develops a passion for racing.
In his early teens, a disagreement with his parents leads to Drace leaving his family and traveling to Ord Mantell City.
Once there, Drace begins cutting his teeth on the scene, looking for work first as an amateur musician in nightclubs, bars, and casinos across town. While in between gigs, Drace picks up extra jobs as a runner for Zutto the Hutt, a local underboss in the city, taking a leaning towards the more illicit big city activities; mixing himself up with various crime syndicates operating in and out of Ord Mantell, participating in illegal swoop races across the flatlands and junkyards, and spice trading.
Significant events of adulthood:
Meets and befriends Zaam Nuten, a Bothan swoop racer, and forms the group "The Kessel Runners".
Meets Aeron, future mother of his daughter, Drella. She joins "The Kessel Runners" with Zaam and Drace.
Warrants out for his arrest for his involvement in illegal swoop racing and illegal spice trading force Drace to flee from Ord Mantell
Alignment and attitude:
Known for having a hot head and quick tempered but stoic in appearance at the same time; implosive.
Due to the recent events in his life (the loss of his child's mother, troubles with family and local authorities) and from living on the streets as a teen, Drace suffers from mood swings and bouts of isolation, depression and aggression.
Self medicates with spice; has formed minor addiction.

Views on the Empire and the Emperor's Hammer:
Drace wasn't disillusioned to the crimes the Empire had committed in the past yet he was far removed from the major events that left distaste in some of the people in the galaxy. To him, the war had been over. He wasn't there for it. He had nothing to do. All that was left for him and his people thru those years and after was a life of toil and poverty in the midst of such endless struggle.
As for the present, Drace felt no passion for either side. Considering his status in the New Republic territories, no love for Drace meant no love FROM Drace. As far as he was concerned, the New Republic was responsible for breaking up his makeshift family and in their eyes, Drace and his friends were marked criminals, no explanations.
In light of his situation, he needed an opportunity and friends who would nuture him; that quest for power and strength within to defeat his hidden enemies and rivals.
He saw that in the Emperor's Hammer...
Reason for enlisting in the Emperor's Hammer:
His misfortunes in Ord Mantell City meant Drace was without his closest friends, separated from his family and in need of refuge. While on the run from New Republic law enforcement, Drace crash landed in the Kalonan forests on Aurora Prime and was rescued by native Aurorans. After evading his pursuers and landing in Imperial territory, he took the opportunity to recover from his injuries then went out in search of a chance to start his life over. Heading northeast towards the coast of New Laconica, Drace made his way to the New Imperial City and enlisted with the Emperor's Hammer.
In some ways, Drace liked the thought of protection; having a bigger gang for the next time.
The next time he dealt with anyone would might cross him, he'd have back-up.
He wouldn't be alone.
They'd be there.
